THE PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE ORGANIZATION IS TO PROVIDE MUSICAL AND ORCHESTRAL EDUCATION FOR YOUTHS AGES 6 TO 18, TO BRING STUDENT INSTRUMENTALISTS TOGETHER TO LEARN, REHEARSE, AND PERFORM SYMPHONIC MUSIC IN AN EDUCATIONAL SETTING.

DURING THE 2022 FISCAL YEAR THE ORGANIZATION MAINTAINED ITS MEMBERSHIP AT OVER 500 YOUNG MUSICIANS FROM A VARIETY OF BAY AREA COMMUNITIES AND ECONOMIC AND CULTURAL BACKGROUNDS. ORGANIZED INTO SIX DIFFERENT ORCHESTRAS, ARRANGED ACCORDING TO AGE, INTEREST, AND MUSICAL ABILITY, THE MEMBERS REHEARSED WEEKLY AND PERFORMED FOR THE COMMUNITY IN A VARIETY OF CONCERTS. THEY GAVE 6 MAJOR CONCERTS AND 2 CHAMBER MUSIC RECITALS DURING THE REGULAR SEASON, ALL PERFORMED "LIVE AND IN PERSON" AS COVID 19 RESTRICTIONS BEGAN TO LOOSEN.
