SHELTER PROGRAM/OPERATIONS OPEN HOUSE MINISTRIES IS A FAITH-BASED COMMUNITY ORGANIZATION HELPING HOMELESS FAMILIES, BY PROVIDING SHELTER AND INTERVENTION THROUGH CHRIST- CENTERED, LIFE CHANGING PROGRAMS. THE PROGRAMS FOR 2020/21 INCLUDED CASE MANAGEMENT, EDUCATION, JOB TRAINING AND COUNSELING. SEE SCHEDULE O
OPEN HOUSE MINISTRIES ACCEPTS NON-CASH IN-KIND DONATIONS OF USED PERSONAL EFFECTS AND HOUSEHOLD GOODS FROM THE GENERAL PUBLIC. MANY OF THE ITEMS DONATED ARE USED TO PROVIDE DAILY NECESSITIES TO INDIVIDUALS AT THE SHELTER. A SIGNIFICANT PORTION IS SOLD AT THE ONSITE THRIFT STORES OPERATED BY OPEN HOUSE MINISTRIES. THE REMAINING ITEMS ARE SHARED WITH OTHER SHELTERS AND GIVEN TO PEOPLE WHO CALL IN OR STOP BY WITH A NEED. EXCESS ITEMS ARE GIVEN TO THE SALVATION ARMY ADULT REHABILITATION CENTER OR SOLD TO THRIFT STORES.
