SHELTERS - THE SKAGIT FRIENDSHIP HOUSE PROVIDES TWO EMERGENCY SHELTERS FOR PEOPLE STRUGGLING WITH HOMELESSNESS. WE ARE THE LARGEST EMERGENCY HOUSING PROVIDER IN SKAGIT COUNTY, PROVIDING TWO LOCATIONS, THE WOMEN'S (FAMILY) SHELTER AND THE MEN'S SHELTER. OTHER SERVICES PROVIDED INCLUDE MEALS, CLOTHING, PERSONAL CARE ITEMS, COUNSELING & SUPPORT SERVICES, AND ASSISTANCE WITH PERMANENT HOUSING. COMMUNITY SERVICES ARE ALSO PROVIDED BY SIGN UP WHICH INCLUDE LAUNDRY, CLOTHING AND PERSONAL SUPPLIES, AND SHOWER FACILITIES.


FRIENDSHIP HOUSE CAFE - PROVIDES THREE DAILY NO-COST MEALS 365/7 FOR ALL SHELTER RESIDENTS TO INCLUDE WS, MS, BH, TH, AND SFSC. THE CAFE IS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC FOR DINNER ONLY AND BAGGED LUNCH MEALS ARE DISTRIBUTED DAILY AT SELECT PARKS 365/7. IN ADDITION, THE CAFE ALSO PROVIDES THE HUNGER 2 HOPE CULINARY TRAINING PROGRAM, HELPING TO SUPPORT THE CAFE AND PROVIDE BASIC CULINARY SKILLS AND JOB PLACEMENT TO PARTICIPANTS.


TRANSITION HOUSES - BARBARA'S HOUSE HELPS TRANSITIONING SENIOR AGED SHELTER GRADUATES EARN CREDIT PAYING THEIR RENT AND BILLS IN A TIMELY MANNER FOR FUTURE APPLICATIONS FOR THEIR OWN RESIDENCE. OAK/MAGNOLIA TRANSITION HOUSE IS SET UP TO HELP TRANSITIONING SHELTER GRADUATES EARN CREDIT PAYING THEIR RENT AND BILLS IN A TIMELY MANNER FOR FUTURE APPLICATIONS FOR THEIR OWN RESIDENCE.


SKAGIT FIRST STEP CENTER - THE SKAGIT FIRST STEP CENTER IS A 24/7 EMERGENCY TEMPORARY HOMELESS CENTER. THIS LOCATION PROVIDES 45, INDIVIDUAL PALLET SHELTER CABINS, WITH 24/7 ONSITE MANAGEMENT AND OVERNIGHT SECURITY. DURING THE COLD WINTER MONTHS, A LARGE ROOM WITHIN THE BUILDING HOUSES UP TO 25 BEDS FOR HOMELESS COMMUNITY MEMBERS IN AN OVERNIGHT SHELTER, TO INCLUDE BREAKFAST AND DINNER. ON-SITE SERVICES INCLUDE HOT MEALS PREPARED BY OUR CAFE, MENTAL HEALTH SUPPORT, SUBSTANCE ABUSE SUPPORT, EMPLOYMENT SERVICES, MEDICAL VISITS, TRANSPORTATION SERVICES, SHOWER FACILITIES, CLOTHING AND PERSONAL PRODUCTS, AND LAUNDRY.
