HELPING HAND HOUSE PROVIDES EMERGENCY SHELTER AND HOUSING SOLUTIONS FOR FAMILIES IN OUR COMMUNITY, ENDING THEIR CRISIS OF HOMELESSNESS.

IN RESPONSE TO THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC, THE EMERGENCY RENTAL ASSISTANCE PROGRAM WAS IMPLEMENTED UNDER THE CORONAVIRUS AID, RELIEF, AND ECONOMIC SECURITY ACT (CARES) AND THE CORONAVIRUS RESPONSE AND RELIEF SUPPLEMENTAL APPROPRIATIONS ACT. UNDER THESE PROGRAMS, HHH PROVIDED FEDERAL FUNDING TO AFFECTED FAMILIES IN PIERCE COUNTY TO SUBSIDIZE RENTAL AND UTILITIES PAYMENTS. IN 2023, 420 FAMILIES WERE SERVED.


OTHER SERVICES INCLUDE OPEN HEART MINISTRIES, PERMANENT HOUSING AND AFFORDABLE HOUSING ASSISTANCE.


RAPID RE-HOUSING SERVES PIERCE COUNTY FAMILIES IN RENTED HOMES THROUGHOUT PIERCE COUNTY. WE PROVIDE RENT AND OTHER FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE FROM SIX MONTHS TO A YEAR WITH LIMITED CASE MANAGEMENT. IN 2023, 98 FAMILIES WERE SERVED.


EMERGENCY SHELTER PROGRAM PROVIDES TEMPORARY HOUSING FOR FAMILIES WITH CHILDREN EXPERIENCING HOMELESSNESS. FAMILIES STAY IN ONE OF SEVEN AGENCY-OWNED OR CONTRIBUTED HOMES AND RECEIVE CASE MANAGEMENT TAILORED TO THE SPECIFIC NEEDS OF THE FAMILY. DURING THEIR STAY, HELPING HAND HOUSE HELPS THE FAMILY WORK TO SECURE PERMANENT HOUSING THROUGH HELPING HAND HOUSE'S RAPID REHOUSING PROGRAM AND PROVIDES REFERRALS TO OTHER AGENCIES TO HELP OVERCOME OTHER LIFE OBSTACLES. DURING 2023, 40 FAMILIES WERE SERVED.
