ENSURE THE ECONOMIC VIABILITY AND SUSTAINABILITY OF THE NAPA VALLEY APPELLATION THROUGH MARKETING, PROMOTIONAL, EDUCATIONAL AND TRAINING PROGRAMS, WORK ON CRITICAL INDUSTRY ISSUES, AND ENHANCE THE WELL-BEING OF THE NAPA COUNTY COMMUNITY.

DOMESTIC MARKETING SUPPORTS THE ORGANIZATION'S OVERALL VISION AND GOALS BY MARKETING AND PROMOTING THE NAPA VALLEY APPELLATION IN THE UNITED STATES. THIS CONSISTS OF STRATEGIC POSITIONING (BRANDING) OF THE NAPA VALLEY APPELLATION AND PROGRAM ACTIVITIES THAT SERVE MEMBERS DOMESTIC NEEDS.
INTERNATIONAL MARKETING INCLUDES ALL MARKETING AND PROMOTIONAL ACTIVITIES CONDUCTED IN SUPPORT OF WINE EXPORTS TO FOREIGN MARKETS. CERTAIN INTERNATIONAL PROGRAM EXPENDITURES QUALIFY FOR REIMBURSEMENT UNDER FEDERAL GRANTS. AS FISCAL AGENT FOR THE ORGANIZATION, THE WINE INSTITUTE AND THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE COMMODITY CREDIT CORPORATION FUNDS THESE DISBURSEMENTS AND COLLECTS THE CORRESPONDING GOVERNMENT FUNDING. THE REMAINING INTERNATIONAL PROGRAM EXPENSES ARE PAID BY THE ORGANIZATION AND ARE PARTIALLY FUNDED THROUGH MEMBER PROGRAM FEES AND DUES.
MEMBER RELATIONS HANDLES ISSUES RELATING TO MEMBER COMMUNICATIONS, MEMBER INVOLVEMENT AND MEMBER SATISFACTION. THE MEMBER RELATIONS DEPARTMENT ORGANIZES WORKSHOPS ON TOPICS OF INTEREST THAT ARE HELD THROUGHOUT THE YEAR. IN ADDITION, THE DEPARTMENT ALSO ORGANIZES GENERAL MEMBERS MEETINGS AND SOCIAL EVENTS, INCLUDING THE ANNUAL MEETING AND THE VINTAGE CELEBRATION. IN FISCAL YEAR 2021, IN-PERSON EVENTS WERE EITHER CANCELED OR CONVERTED TO VIRTUAL EVENTS WHERE POSSIBLE DUE TO THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC.
