FARMLANDTHE FARMLAND PROGRAM SUPPORTS FARMERS AND RANCHERS IN THEIR TRANSITION TO REGENERATIVE AGRICULTURE BY PROVIDING ACCESS TO SOIL HEALTH TRAINING, GRANT OPPORTUNITIES, EDUCATIONAL RESOURCES, AND A GROWING COMMUNITY OF REGENERATIVE PRODUCERS AND LAND STEWARDS AT VARIOUS STAGES OF REGENERATION. $35,000 GIVEN DIRECTLY TO FARMERS IN GRANTS; TRAINED 158 FARMERS; TRAINING SCHOLARSHIPS AWARDED: BIPOC: 78 (30%), LOW INCOME 97 (38%), FEMALE/NON-BINARY: 160 (62%), BEGINNING FARMER & RANCHER (BFR): 108 (42%).
STEWARDSHIPOUR EDUCATION PLATFORM, COMMUNITY, AND RESOURCE LIBRARY EDUCATES AND EMPOWERS EMERGING LEADERS TO BECOME IMPACTFUL ADVOCATES FOR THE REGENERATIVE MOVEMENT. IN 2021, WE LAUNCHED TWO REGENERATIVE GARDENING COURSES TAUGHT BY TASHANDA GILES-JONES. OFFERING BOTH AN INTRODUCTORY AND ADVANCED OPTION PROVIDED A CLEAR PATHWAY FOR OUR GARDENING STUDENTS TO CONTINUE THEIR EDUCATION.
MEDIAWE USE STORYTELLING TO EDUCATE, INSPIRE, AND CONNECT MILLIONS TO THE REGENERATIVE MOVEMENT THROUGH SHORT- FILMS, MINI-DOCS, A PODCAST, BRANDED COLLABORATIONS, AND OTHER CONTENT. THIS YEAR WE PRODUCED FIVE EPISODES OF GROW WHAT YOU KNOW; A FARMER FEATURE FILM, CHAMBERLAIN RANCH, A SHORT FILM: A NEW (RE)GENERATION, 38 EPISODES OF WE CAN DO THIS PODCAST, AND FOUR FARMER STORIES IN COLLABORATION WITH NRDC.
POLICYAS PEOPLE AWAKEN TO THE POSSIBILITIES OF REGENERATION, THERE IS NEW EXCITEMENT IN THE SOIL HEALTH AND REGENERATIVE AGRICULTURE MOVEMENT. IN 2021, KTG FORMED THE REGENERATE AMERICA INITIATIVE, AN UNPRECEDENTED GRASSROOTS CAMPAIGN TO ENSURE SUPPORT FOR REGENERATIVE AGRICULTURE IN THE 2023 FARM BILL AND BEYOND. WHILE KTG WILL STEWARD THIS INITIATIVE, IN 2021 WE CONDUCTED THREE POLICY FARM TOURS 2021. AND STARTED THE PROCESS OF CONVENING A COALITION OF LEADING FOOD, FARMING, AND CONSERVATION ORGANIZATIONS TO ADVANCE KEY POLICY PRIORITIES AND MOUNTING A MASSIVE CAMPAIGN FOR A FARM BILL THAT MAKES REGENERATIVE AGRICULTURE THE MAIN AGRICULTURE SYSTEM IN THE US.
