THE ORGANIZATION'S MISSION IS DEDICATED TO BUILDING GIRLS' SELF-ESTEEM THROUGH EXPOSURE TO FEMALE ROLE MODELS. BELIEVING THAT GIRLS BUILD SELF-ESTEEM BEST BY HAVING STRONG AND POSITIVE FEMALE ROLE MODELS IN THEIR LIVES, RNRC4G PROVIDES AN ENVIRONMENT FOR GIRLS TO INTERACT WITH WOMEN WHO PROVIDE MENTORSHIP IN THE CONTEXT OF MUSIC CREATION AND PERFORMANCE. PROVIDING WORKSHOPS, TECHNICAL TRAINING, AND ONE-ON-ONE INTERACTION WITH FEMALE MENTORS, WE CREATE LEADERSHIP OPPORTUNITIES, CULTIVATE A SUPPORTIVE COMMUNITY OF PEERS AND MENTORS, AND ENCOURAGE SOCIAL CHANGE AND THE DEVELOPMENT OF LIKE SKILLS. WEEK-LONG SUMMER CAMP SESSIONS FOR GIRLS 8-17. CAMPERS PARTICIPATE IN INSTRUMENT INSTRUCTIONS, WORKSHOPS, BAND PRACTICE, AND WRITE ORIGINAL SONGS. THE SHOWCASE PERFORMANCE IS HELD AT A LOCAL MUSIC VENUE.
ROAMING ROCK CAMP IS A 10-WEEK AFTER-SCHOOL PROGRAM DEDICATED TO ENHANCING SELF-ESTEEM AND CREATIVE EXPRESSION IN MIDDLE SCHOOLERS THROUGH MUSIC CREATION AND PERFORMANCE. GIRLS AND TRANS-YOUTH AGES 11-15 WILL LEARN AN INSTRUMENT, FORM A BAND, WRITE AND RECORD AN ORIGINAL SONG, AND PERFORM OR CREATE A MUSIC VIDEO OVER THE COURSE OF 10 WEEKS OF INSTRUCTION, TECHNICAL TRAINING, AND SOCIAL JUSTICE WORKSHOPS UTILIZING ROSETTA, THE ROCK CAMP MOBILE BAND PRACTICE AND PERFORMANCE SPACE.
