PUBLISHED TWICE A YEAR, THE AGATE IS A JOURNAL OF LOCAL HISTORY INSERTED IN THE MADRAS PIONEER AND MAILED TO OUR MEMBERSHIP. ALL EDITIONS ARE AVAILABLE ON OUR WEBSITE, 4,500 PEOPLE. THE ANNUAL THRESHING BEE INVOLVES PREPARING THE GROUND, PLANTING, GROWING THE WHEAT, CUTTING, BINDING WITH HORSE DRAWN EQUIPMENT, THRESHING THE WHEAT WITH WOODEN SEPARATOR, 150 PEOPLE. RENTED SMALL OFFICE IN DOWNTOWN MADRAS TO ENABLE OUR BOARD OF DIRECTORS TO MEET THE PUBLIC AS WE CONTINUE OUR EFFORTS TO FIND A SUITABLE PROPERTY FOR A MUSEUM, THE OFFICE IS OPEN PART TIME THROUGH EACH MONTH, APPROXIMATELY 50 PEOPLE PER MONTH.
