IN-HOME CARE: KWA HOME CARE HAS PROVIDED HOUSEHOLD AND PERSONAL CARE SERVICES (SUCH AS ASSISTANCE WITH TAKING MEDICATIONS AND BATHING) TO THE ELDERLY AND DISABLED THROUGHOUT THE PUGET SOUND FOR OVER 20 YEARS. ONE OF THE LARGEST AND MOST RESPECTED HOME CARE PROVIDERS IN THE STATE SINCE 1989, KWS HAS A STELLAR REPUTATION FOR PROVIDING EXCELLENT CARE AND COMPASSION TO A WIDE RANGE OF CLIENTS ENABLING THEM TO REMAIN IN THE COMFORT OF THEIR OWN HOMES. KWA HOME CARE HAS 1,685 CAREGIVERS SERVING APPROXIMATELY 1,977 CLIENTS A YEAR.
SENIOR MEAL SITE: THIS PROGRAM PROVIDES HEALTHY ETHNIC MEALS, A LIVELY ATMOSPHERE, OPPORTUNITIES FOR SENIORS TO CONNECT AND ENGAGE IN PHYSICAL ACTIVITY, PARTICIPATE IN FIRST-RATE HEALTH AND NUTRITION WORKSHOPS, AND RECEIVE ASSISTANCE WITH NAVIGATING MANY SOCIAL SERVICES SUCH AS MEDICAID, MEDICARE, MEDICARE PART D INSURANCE, HOUSING ASSISTANCE/REFERRALS, BASIC FOOD INFORMATION AND APPLICATIONS, LOW INCOME SUBSIDY PROGRAM AND ENERGY ASSISTANCE. KWA PROVIDES MEAL SITES FOR KOREAN MEALS, INTERNATIONAL MEALS, VIETNAMESE MEALS, CAMBODIAN MEALS, AND FEDERAL WAY MEALSITE.
HOTEL OLYMPUS: HOTEL OLYMPUS APARTMENT IS A 49 RESIDENTIAL UNIT AND COMMERCIAL SPACE LOCATED IN TACOMA, WASHINGTON. EACH BUILDING OF THE PROJECT WAS ALLOCATED LOW-INCOME HOUSING CREDITS PURSUANT TO IRS CODE SECTION 42, WHICH REGULATES THE USE OF THE PROJECT AS TO OCCUPANT ELIGIBILITY AND UNIT GROSS RENT, AMONG OTHER REQUIREMENTS. EACH BUILDING OF THE PROJECT MUST MEET THE PROVISION OF THESE REGULATIONS DURING EACH OF 15 CONSECUTIVE YEARS IN ORDER TO REMAIN QUALIFIED TO RECEIVE THE CREDITS, EVEN IF DISPOSITION OF THE PROJECT BY THE OWNER OCCURS. THE APARTMENT MANAGER WORKS FULL-TIME AND LIVES ON SITE. SHE ARRANGES COMMUNITY MEALS, ASSISTS TENANTS WITH UNDERSTANDING BENEFITS FOR WHICH THEY MAY BE ELIGIBLE, AND REFERS THEM TO OTHER SERVICES THAT MAY HELP WITH THEIR EXPENDABLE INCOME AND CONNECT THEM TO OPPORTUNITIES FOR EDUCATION AND EMPLOYMENT.
FOOD STAMPS OUTREACH, NATURALIZATION, COMMUNITY LIVING CONNECTION, COMMUNITY AND BEHAVIORAL HEALTH, WE ARE FAMILY, COMMUNITY HEALTH CARE, ORCHARD PROJECT, EMERGENCY SERVICE, ADULT FAMILY HOME, AND PORTLAND AVE COMMUNITY CENTER.RENTAL ASSISTANCE PROGRAM: THIS PROGRAM FUNDING AVAILABLE TO ASSIST HOUSEHOLDS THAT ARE UNABLE TO PAY RENT AND UTILITIES OR OTHER HOUSING COSTS DUE TO THE DEVASTATING IMPACT OF THE PANDEMIC, MILLIONS OF AMERICANS FACE DEEP RENTAL DEBT AND FEAR EVICTIONS AND THE LOSS OF BASIC HOUSING SECURITY. FUNDS ARE INTENDED TO PREVENT EVICTIONS THAT WOULD CONTRIBUTE TO THE SPREAD OF THE VIRUS BY PAYING PAST DUE, CURRENT DUE, FUTURE RENT AND UTILITIES, TARGETING LIMITED RESOURCES TO THOSE WHO HAVE EXPERIENCED FINANCIAL HARDSHIP DUE TO THE COVID-19 OUTBREAK AND ARE AT RISK OF EXPERIENCING HOMELESSNESS OR HOUSING INSTABILITY.
