Part 3 - Line 4a

THE RESILIENT ADAPTATION PROGRAM FOCUSES ON CREATING TANGIBLE, ACTION-ORIENTED PROJECTS THAT ADDRESS COMMUNITY PRIORITIES IN RESPONSE TO CLIMATE CHANGE AND SEA LEVEL RISE, RANGING FROM CONTRIBUTIONS TO CITY-WIDE ADAPTATION AND RESILIENCE PLANNING TO INTERVENTIONS FOR INDIVIDUAL RESIDENTS AND FAMILIES. AN IMPORTANT FOCUS FOR CRCS WORK IN FY 22-23 HAS BEEN OUR EFFORT TO EXPAND THE CAPACITY AND LEADERSHIP OF ENVIRONMENTAL JUSTICE COMMUNITY-BASED ORGANIZATIONS ACROSS THE BAY AREA.

RESILIENT EDUCATION PROGRAM: AIMS TO INCREASE AWARENESS AND UNDERSTANDING OF CLIMATE CHANGE AND ITS IMPACTS IN FRONTLINE COMMUNITIES, PARTICULARLY AMONG YOUTH. THE PROGRAM HAS TWO MAIN COMPONENTS: THE EARTHWISE KIDS CURRICULUM AND A YOUTH CLIMATE COLLECTIVE FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM. IN FY 22-23, WE LAUNCHED THE INAUGURAL YOUTH CLIMATE COLLECTIVE (YCC). WE PROVIDED OPPORTUNITIES FOR YOUTH TO EXPLORE, LEARN, AND ENGAGE WITH ENVIRONMENTALISM THROUGH HANDS-ON FIELD TRIPS AND ACTIVITIES. OUR FIRST COHORT EXPLORED THE MYRIAD OF WAYS THAT ENVIRONMENTAL JUSTICE ORGANIZATIONS ARE TACKLING THE CLIMATE CHANGE CRISIS, IN A SERIES OF 9 WORKSHOPS.

THROUGH THE RESILIENT HOMES PROGRAM, CRC SEEKS TO BRIDGE THE GAP BETWEEN EXISTING RESOURCES AND THOSE MOST IN NEED. CRCS RESILIENT HOMES PROGRAM WORKS WITH LOW-INCOME RESIDENTS TO NAVIGATE AVAILABLE PROGRAMS FOR FREE OR LOW-COST SOLAR, HOME REPAIR, AND WEATHERIZATION TO MAKE THEIR HOMES BOTH SAFER NOW AND MORE RESILIENT FOR THE FUTURE.
