TO MAXIMIZE LIFELONG SUCCESS FOR UNDERSERVED CHILDREN BY IMPROVING THEIR READING PROFICIENCY - AT SCHOOL, AT HOME, AND IN THEIR COMMUNITIES.

UPLIFT LITERACY TRAINED MORE THAN 150 VOLUNTEERS TO DELIVER READING INTERVENTIONS TO OVER 200 CHILDREN. OUR MONTHLY FAMILY ENGAGEMENT EVENTS HAVE SERVED OVER 150 FAMILIES. WE HAVE ALSO DISTRIBUTED OVER 3,000 BOOKS.
IN 2023, UPLIFT LITERACY PROUDLY SERVED 471 CHILDREN AND 230 PARENTS, DISTRIBUTING AN IMPRESSIVE 3,245 BOOKS ACROSS ALL PROGRAMS. OUR READINGPALS PROGRAM OFFERED 4,632 FREE SESSIONS AND PROVIDED 2,316 HOURS FOCUSED ON BUILDING SOCIO-EMOTIONAL AND EARLY LITERACY SKILLS. THROUGH OUR FREE BOOKS ACROSS TOWN INITIATIVE, WE PLACED 1,650 FREE BOOKS IN LOCAL BUSINESSES TO INCREASE ACCESS TO READING MATERIALS FOR FAMILIES. ADDITIONALLY, OUR FAMILY ENGAGEMENT INITIATIVE HOSTED 11 FREE PARENT WORKSHOPS AND 9 STORYTIME AND COMPREHENSION EVENTS, FOSTERING A LOVE OF READING AND LEARNING WITHIN OUR COMMUNITY. UPLIFT LITERACY SERVES A WIDE RANGE OF NEIGHBORHOODS ACROSS MIAMI-DADE COUNTY. THESE INCLUDE ALLAPATTAH, BROWNSVILLE, CUTLER BAY, DOWNTOWN MIAMI, FONTAINEBLEAU, GLADEVIEW, HIALEAH, HIALEAH GARDENS, HOMESTEAD, KENDALL, LITTLE HAVANA, NORTH BAY VILLAGE, NORTH MIAMI, OVERTOWN, PALMETTO BAY, RICHMOND HEIGHTS, SOUTH MIAMI, TAMIAMI LAKES, THE CROSSINGS, WESTCHESTER, AND WEST LITTLE RIVER.
