STUDENT LIFE PROGRAM - LONG TERM POSITIVE ADULT RELATIONSHIPS MAKE ALL THE DIFFERENCE IN THE LIFE OF A CHILD AFFECTED BY TRAUMA. OUR ELEMENTARY MENTORING PROGRAM AND TEEN LEADERSHIP ACADEMY PROVIDE THE OPPORTUNITY FOR KIDS TO LEARN AND GROW WITH MENTORS. WE KNOW THAT STRONG MENTAL HEALTH AND A SOLID ACADEMIC BASE ARE ESSENTIAL TO END CYCLES OF STRESS AND POVERTY. WITH A FOCUS ON READING AT EACH MENTORING SESSION, OUR ELEMENTARY STUDENTS WERE ABLE TO IMPROVE THEIR LITERACY SKILLS. IN 2021, TEAM UP SERVED 107 STUDENTS AND CAREGIVERS AND ALSO PREPARED AND SERVED 1,750 MEALS ON MENTORING NIGHTS. IN 2021, TEAM UP CLIENTS ACHIEVED HUGE EDUCATIONAL GOALS IN 2021. THIS YEAR WE SAW A TEAM UP STUDENT OF 10 YEARS GRADUATE FROM HIGH SCHOOL AND TWO TEAM UP CAREGIVERS ENROLL AND BEGIN EARNING THEIR GED FROM COLLEGE.
FAMILY LIFE PROGRAM - CAREGIVERS BUILD RESILIENCE THROUGH RELATIONSHIPS WITH OUR FAMILY LIFE STAFF AND AFFILIATED COMMUNITY LEADERS. AS WELL, ADULT CLIENTS ADD SKILLS IN FINANCIAL LITERACY, WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT, AND PARENTING SUPPORT GROUPS. IN 2021, TEAM UP PROVIDED 156 HOURS OF MENTAL HEALTH COUNSELING TO 107 STUDENTS AND CAREGIVERS. TEAM UP LIKEWISE WORKED WITH ITS CLIENTS ON BUILDING RESUMES, CREATING ONLINE CAREER PROFILES, AND CONNECTING THEM TO JOBS THAT MATCHED THEIR SKILLS. THIS YEAR, TEAM UP SAW THAT ALL NONDISABLED TEAM UP CAREGIVERS WERE EMPLOYED OR PROMOTED IN THEIR JOBS.
