THE SKAGIT TOURISM BUREAU TELLS SKAGIT COUNTY, WASHINGTONS STORY WITH AUTHENTICITY AND REVERENCE, HELPING TO MAINTAIN THE PRIDE AND INTEGRITY OF ITS COMMUNITIES AND ENCOURAGE VISITORS TO EXPERIENCE THEIR CHARM AND WONDER.

IN 2022 THE ORGANIZATION BECAME A FULLY-FUNCTIONAL DESTINATION MARKETING ORGANIZATION, WORKING TO CRAFT AND MANAGE THE NARRATIVE FOR SKAGIT COUNTY AS A TOURIST DESTINATION, AND TO EDUCATE THE COMMUNITY ABOUT THEIR ROLE IN REALIZING THE ECONOMIC BENEFITS OF THE VISITOR ECONOMY. A PREMIER AGENCY OF RECORD WAS ENGAGED TO MANAGE A STRATEGIC MARKETING PLAN THAT IS DESIGNED TO MANAGE THE FLOW OF VISITORS TO THE DESTINATION WHILE HIGHLIGHTING ITS RICH HERITAGE AND CULTURAL ASSETS. WORKING WITH NEIGHBORING COMMUNITIES, A VISITOR EXPERIENCE TRAINING PROGRAM WAS DEVELOPED TO HELP POSITION COMMUNITY MEMBERS AS PASSIONATE AMBASSADORS FOR THE DESTINATION WHO ARE ABLE TO EFFECTIVELY COMMUNICATE HOW VISITORS MAY BE ENRICHED BY EXPERIENCING THE COUNTYS TOURISM ASSETS. WORK ALSO BEGAN TOWARD THE GOALS OF A FIVE-YEAR STRATEGIC PLAN THAT IS DESIGNED TO IMPROVE QUALITY OF LIFE IN THE COMMUNITY BY EDUCATING RESIDENTS AND VISITORS ABOUT HOW TO RESPONSIBLY PARTICIPATE IN THE VISITOR ECONOMY.
