IN 2021, ADVOCATES FOR COMMUNITY HEALTH (ACH) OFFICIALLY LAUNCHED AS A MEMBERSHIP ORGANIZATION AND FILED FOR INCORPORATION AS A 501(C)4. THE ORGANIZATIONS MISSION IS TO ADVANCE THE DELIVERY OF HEALTH CARE TO UNDERSERVED POPULATIONS AND CULTIVATE NEW OPPORTUNITIES TO ACHIEVE HEALTH EQUITY IN SUPPORT OF PATIENTS AND COMMUNITIES IN NEED. THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS INCLUDES NINE CEOS FROM ACH MEMBER ORGANIZATIONS AND THE EPAC IS COMPRISED OF CEOS FROM AN ADDITIONAL FIVE ORGANIZATIONS. THESE ENTITIES WORKED TOGETHER TO IDENTIFY ACHS POLICY PRIORITIES AND COLLABORATE REGULARLY WITH ACH STAFF TO ALIGN ON AND ACHIEVE ORGANIZATIONAL GOALS. OVER THE COURSE OF THE YEAR, 1 ORGANIZATION WIDE IN-PERSON CONVENING WAS HELD WITH LEADERS FROM THE BOARD AND EPAC TO SOLIDIFY LEGISLATIVE FOCUS AREAS, SHARE BEST PRACTICES, AND CONNECT WITH FEDERAL HEALTH POLICY LEADERS IN WASHINGTON.WITH A BOARD AND CEO IN PLACE, ACH FOCUSED ON EXPANDING ITS FULL-TIME STAFF AND ENGAGING POLICY AND ADVOCACY EXPERTS. THE ORGANIZATION RECRUITED AND HIRED A CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER, SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT OF COMMUNICATIONS, MARKETING, AND MEMBERSHIP AND A DIRECTOR OF FINANCE AND HR. ACH ALSO RETAINED A STRATEGIC PLANNING FIRM, A PUBLIC POLICY FIRM, AND A LOBBYING FIRM TO SUPPORT ITS LEGISLATIVE AND ADVOCACY EFFORTS.THROUGHOUT THE YEAR, ACH BUILT OUT ITS MEMBERSHIP RANKS TO INCLUDE 19 MEMBERS REPRESENTING NINE STATES AND PUERTO RICO. MEMBERS ENJOY:- INNOVATIVE AND BOLD LEADERSHIP - TOP-NOTCH ADVOCACY REPRESENTATION IN D.C.- SOPHISTICATED STRATEGY- EXPERIENCED GOVERNMENT RELATIONS PROFESSIONALS- AGGRESSIVE ADVOCACY FOR SHARED INTERESTS- FORWARD LEANING POLICY SOLUTIONS- ACCESS TO, AND JOINT MEMBERSHIP WITH, THE ASSOCIATION OF CLINICIANS FOR THE UNDERSERVED (ACU) TO LEVERAGE PROGRAMS AND SERVICES- ELIGIBILITY TO SERVE ON THE ACH BOARD OF DIRECTORS AND COMMITTEES
