Describe the Organization's Program Activity:
Part 3
WE PRODUCED 7 MENTORING RELATIONSHIPS. EACH MENTOR MEETS WITH THE YOUTH WEEKLY (OR LESS OFTEN, DEPENDING ON HOW LONG THEY HAVE BEEN TOGETHER AND AVAILABILITY) TO DO A FUN ACTIVITY, HELP WITH HOMEWORK OR DISCUSS CHALLENGES OR POSITIVES IN THEIR LIVES. WITH COVID RESTRICTIONS, WE ENDED UP CLOSING SOME MENTORING MATCHES DURING THE YEAR DUE TO MENTORS MOVING OUT OF TOWN AND FEELING THEY NEEDED TO FOCUS ON THEIR OWN HEALTH. IT WAS ADDITIONALLY CHALLENGING TO RECRUIT MENTORS WITH NETWORKING EVENTS AND RECRUITING FAIRS BEING CANCELLED, AND IT WAS CHALLENGING TO RECEIVE YOUTH REFERRALS WITH SCHOOLS TRANSITIONING FROM IN PERSON CLASSES TO ONLINE PLATFORMS WITH COVID RESTRICTIONS. LASTLY, WITH COVID RESTRICTIONS, WE WERE NOT ABLE TO HOST OUR MONTHLY EVENTS FOR MOST OF 2020; HOWEVER, WE WERE ABLE TO HOST 6 MENTOR EVENTS DURING THE YEAR TO HELP PROMOTE OUR MENTORSHIPS. PROVIDED MONTHLY EVENTS WERE HELD AT PLACES AT OUTDOOR VENUES WITH GAMES, A GOLF TOURNAMENT AND BOWLING TO ALLOW FOR SOCIAL DISTANCING LATER IN THE YEAR. EARLIER EVENTS IN THE YEAR WERE HOSTED IN THE PARK FOR PHOTOGRAPHY LESSONS AND TEAM BUILDING, AS WELL AS WATCHING A STEP SHOW TO CELEBRATE BLACK HISTORY MONTH. EACH EVENT FOCUSES ON BRINGING OUR MENTORS AND YOUTH TOGETHER FOR FELLOWSHIP AND NEW LIFE EXPERIENCES.
