DEDICATED TO PROVIDING TRAINED ASSISTANCE DOGS TO PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES IN ORDER TO INCREASE INDEPENDENCE AND SELF RELIANCE THROUGH EDUCATIONAL AND VOCATIONAL PROGRAMS.

OUR FOUNDATION: 1 DOG:1 CLIENT. FOUR FULLY TRAINED ASSISTANCE DOGS TO SERVE CLIENTS WITH DISABILITIES. ONE OF THE DOGS WAS PLACED WITH A VETERAN WITH PTSD; ONE IS WORKING WITH A PERSON WITH A SEIZURE DISORDER; AND THE OTHER TWO ARE WORKING FOR CLIENTS WITH MOBILITY NEEDS. SEVEN ADDITIONAL TEAMS COMPLETED THE OWNER/SELF-TRAINING PROGRAM, WHICH TEACHES PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES TO TRAIN THEIR OWN DOG TO BE THEIR SERVICE DOG. FOUR OF THESE TEAMS WERE VETERANS, AND THE REMAINING THREE MEDICAL ALERT AND MENTAL HEALTH SUPPORT. ADW IS COMMITTED TO MEETING THE NEEDS OF OUR DIVERSE CLIENT BASE, BY PROVIDING LIFELONG SUPPORT TO GRADUATE TEAMS. ADW CONDUCTED THREE TRAININGS IN FY22 TO SUPPORT GRADUATE SERVICE DOG HANDLERS WHO DESIRED ADDITIONAL SKILLS AND SUPPORT.(CONTINUED SCH O)
