DEDICATED TO PROVIDING TRAINED ASSISTANCE DOGS TO PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES IN ORDER TO INCREASE INDEPENDENCE AND SELF RELIANCE THROUGH EDUCATIONAL AND VOCATIONAL PROGRAMS.

OUR FOUNDATION: 1 DOG: 1 PERSON. ASSISTANCE DOGS OF THE WEST (ADW) GRADUATED 16 FULLY TRAINED SERVICE DOGS TO SERVE CLIENTS WITH DISABILITIES. THREE OF THE SERVICE DOGS ARE WORKING WITH VETERANS WITH PTSD; TWO ASSIST YOUTH WITH AUTISM; ONE SUPPORTS A YOUNG ADULT WITH DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES; AND 10 ARE PROVIDING SUPPORT TO INDIVIDUALS WITH PSYCHIATRIC AND MENTAL HEALTH NEEDS. ADW IS COMMITTED TO MEETING THE NEEDS OF OUR DIVERSE CLIENT BASE BY PROVIDING LIFELONG SUPPORT TO GRADUATE TEAMS. ADW CONDUCTED FIVE TRAININGS IN FY23 TO SUPPORT GRADUATE DOG HANDLERS WHO DESIRED ADDITIONAL SKILLS AND SUPPORT. CONTINUED SCH O)
