TO PROMOTE HIGH QUALITY SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH AND EDUCATION IMPROVING HEALTHCARE, MEDICAL TREATMENT AND QUALITY OF LIFE FOR OUR NATION'S VETERANS AND, ULTIMATELY, THE GENERAL PUBLIC.

BRINM ACHIEVED BUDGET SURPLUS AFTER 5 YEARS OF DEFICITS THAT RANGED FROM 571,000 TO 2.372 MILLION AND INCREASED REVENUE BY 44%. WE CONTINUED TO SUPPORT COVID-19 VACCINE TRIAL ON CAMPUS, RECEIVED APPROVAL OF A 35% OVERHEAD RATE FROM HHS, A 15% INCREASE FROM THE PREVIOUS RATE. WE ALSO HIRED A DIRECTOR OF FINANCE TO REPLACE A CONTRACTED ACCOUNTING FIRM, TO WHICH THE ROLE WAS OUTSOURCED. WE DEVELOPED A STRATEGIC PLAN SUPPORTED BY THE BOARD, WHICH WAS USED TO INCREASE INFRASTRUCTURE FOR CLINICAL TRIALS AND TO MOVE FORWARD A PLAN TO DIVEST THE CSP BUILDING FROM BRINM OWNERSHIP. WE CONTINUED TO SERVE AS A FLEXIBLE FUNDING MECHANISM FOR PROJECTS INCLUDING RESEARCH INTO OPIATE ADDICTION, LONG TERM PHENTERMINE TRIAL, STROKE PREVENTION, LOWERING LIPID LEVELS IN OLDER ADULTS, AND MUCH MORE.
