PRESERVING AND MAINTAINING OUR BUILDING, THE CRESTED BUTTE HARDWARE, BUILT IN 1883 AND ONE OF CRESTED BUTTE'S ICONIC HISTORIC BUILDINGS. IN 2019, THE ORGANIZATION COMPLETED A TWO-PHASED BUILDING REHABILITATION AND SEED FUNDED A BUILDING PRESERVATION FUND. - HOUSING AND PROVIDING PUBLIC ACCESS TO OUR PERMANENT AND ROTATING LOCAL HISTORY EXHIBITS - IN FY19/20, 36,265 VISITORS WALKED THROUGH OUR DOORS. - MAINTAINING AND DEVELOPING OUR COLLECTION OF HISTORIC ARTIFACTS, INCLUDING CATALOGUING, ACCESSIONING AND DE-ACCESSIONING; PROPER STORAGE AND CONSERVATION; AND SEASONAL ROTATION IN THE PUBLIC EXHIBIT SPACE. - PROVIDING ACCESS TO RESEARCHERS TO OUR COLLECTION AS WELL AS PERFORMING RESEARCH UPON REQUEST. - OFFERING A VARIETY OF EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS TO THE COMMUNITY THROUGHOUT THE YEAR INCLUDING K-12 FIELD TRIPS, A SUMMER KIDS PROGRAM, HISTORIC TOURS, NEW EXHIBIT OPEN HOUSES, HISTORICAL REENACTMENTS, SPEAKERS, MOVIE NIGHTS, FREE ADMISSION DAYS AND VIRTUAL PROGRAMMING.
