Describe the Organization's Program Activity:

Part 3

DURING THIS FISCAL YEAR, VCNJ WAS ABLE TO SUCCESSFULLY RELAUNCH OUR YOUNG COMPOSERS PROJECT IN APRIL 2023 WITH EIGHT LOCAL CHILDREN PARTICIPATING. OUR WINTER CONCERT FEATURING OUR SPECIAL GUEST, ENGLISH COMPOSER AND PERFORMER WILL TODD, DREW AN AUDIENCE OF 190. HAVING THE OPPORTUNITY TO PRESENT SOME OF WILL TODD'S BEAUTIFUL AND EXCITING COMPOSITIONS ALONG WITH HIS DAZZLING PIANO PERFORMANCE WAS A RARE TREAT FOR BOTH THE SINGERS AND THE AUDIENCE. IT WAS A PROFOUNDLY MOVING AND JOYOUS EXPERIENCE. OUR SPRING CONCERT FIELDS OF GOLD FEATURING RALPH VAUGHN WILLIAMS FOLK SONGS OF THE FOUR SEASONS AND SONGS BY CONTEMPORARY COMPOSERS LIKE STING, DOLLY PARTON AND CARLY SIMON DREW AN AUDIENCE OF 150. THESE AUDIENCE NUMBERS INCREASED SIGNIFICANTLY COMPARED TO THE PREVIOUS YEAR WHEN THE CHOIR WAS JUST RESTARTING PUBLIC PERFORMANCES AFTER THE PANDEMIC. NEW GRANT FUNDS AVAILABLE FOR GENERAL OPERATING SUPPORT ALLOWED OUR ORGANIZATION TO HAVE ENOUGH FINANCIAL FLEXIBILITY TO ENHANCE OUR PERFORMANCES BY HIRING LOCAL MUSICIANS, SUCH AS STRING PLAYERS.
