GALA CHORUSES LEADS THE NORTH AMERICAN GAY CHORAL MOVEMENT. WE ASSIST EMERGING CHORUSES AND FACILITATE NETWORKING AND TRAINING FOR ESTABLISHED GROUPS. OUR SIGNATURE EVENT IS OUR QUADRENNIAL FESTIVAL WHICH BRINGS TOGETHER OVER 150 CHORUSES AND 6,000 SINGERS FOR THE WORLD'S LARGEST LGBTQ PERFORMING EVENT.

GALA PRODUCES A LEADERSHIP SYMPOSIUM ANNUALLY EXCEPT IN THE YEAR OF FESTIVAL. OUR FIRST LIVE SYMPOSIUM WAS HELD IN ATLANTA IN FEBRUARY 2022. THE EVENT INCLUDED WORKSHOPS FOR ARTISTIC DIRECTORS AND CHORUS ADMINISTRATIVE LEADERS AS WELL AS A SYMPOSIUM CHORUS FOR SINGERS. OUR HOST CHORUSES WERE ATLANTA GAY MEN'S CHORUS, ATLANTA WOMEN'S CHORUS AND OURSONG. THE CONFERENCE WAS ATTENDED BY 155 DELEGATES REPRESENTING 67 OF OUR MEMBER CHORUSES. LATE IN 2022 WE BEGAN AN ONLINE SYMPOSIUM FEATURING A SERIES OF WEBINARS BY TONI CAPRA, A BOARD SOURCE CERTIFIED TRAINER.
OTHER PROGRAMS INCLUDE A BEST PRACTICES PROGRAM, AN EXTENSIVE ONLINE RESOURCE CENTER, A NEW MEMBER CHORUS SUPPORT PROGRAM AND A YOUTH SERVICES PROGRAM.
GALA PRODUCES A QUADRENNIAL MUSIC FESTIVAL FOR ITS MEMBER CHORUSES WHICH ATTRACTS OVER 150 PERFORMING ARTS GROUPS WITH NEARLY 6,000 SINGERS. THE NEXT FESTIVAL WILL BE HELD IN JULY 2024 IN MINNEAPOLIS. THE 2020 FESTIVAL WAS CANCELLED DUE TO THE PANDEMIC.
GALA PROVIDES A FREE CONSULTING SERVICE FOR ITS MEMBER CHORUSES REFERRED TO AS THE GALA 411 PROGRAM. THE ADVISORS AVAILABLE UNDER THE PROGRAM ARE HIGHLY EXPERIENCED PROFESSIONALS IN THE AREAS OF ARTISTIC EXCELLENCE, BOARD AND OTHER ADMINISTRAIVE MATTERS AND EQUITY, ACCESS AND BELONGING PROGRAMS. THE CONSULTANTS ARE AVAILABLE FOR PHONE OR VIRTUAL CONSULTATIONS OR IN-PERSON MEETINGS OR RETREATS. GALA PAYS FOR THE ADVISORS' TIME. IF TRAVEL IS REQUIRED THE MEMBER CHORUS PAYS FOR THE TRAVEL AND LODGING EXPENSES. DURING 2022, FIFTEEN OF OUR MEMBER CHORUSES UTILIZED THE 411 PROGRAM.
