FY24 MARKED OUR 81ST SEASON, AND OUR 10TH UNDER ARTISTIC DIRECTOR TED SPERLING. WE PRESENTED THREE FULL-SCALE PROGRAMS ACROSS SIX PERFORMANCES, WHICH PLAYED TO 81% CAPACITY AND SERVED OVER 5,640 AUDIENCE MEMBERS, 135 CHORUS MEMBERS, AND 170 PROFESSIONAL ARTISTS. CONCERTS INCLUDED A LARGELY FORGOTTEN PIECE BY STEPHEN SONDHEIM AND BURT SHEVELOVE CALLED "THE FROGS", WITH NEW TEXT BY NATHAN LANE, WHICH HAS REIGNITED GLOBAL INTEREST IN THE PIECE; "TO MY ARMS/RESTORE", A POWERFUL NEW TWO-PART WORK CONCEIVED BY CHOREOGRAPHER DOUG VARONE AND BASED ON THE MUSIC OF HANDEL WHICH MASTERVOICES (MV) PERFORMED LIVE; AND THE 21ST CENTURY OPERA "GRAPES OF WRATH", WITH A DIVERSE CAST FEATURING 12 SOLOISTS.
