UNITING PEOPLE, SHARING RESOURCES, AND IMPROVING LIVES IN SOUTHWEST WYOMING. WE ARE WORKING TO ADVANCE THE COMMON GOOD BY FOCUSING ON EDUCATION, HEALTH AND BASIC NEEDS. OUR GOAL IS TO CREATE LONG LASTING CHANGES THAT PREVENT PROBLEMS FROM HAPPENING.

UNITED WAY OF SOUTHWEST WYOMING AWARDS GRANTS TO ORGANIZATIONS THAT HAVE MEASURABLE GOALS AND OUTCOMES THAT ALIGN WITH OUR EDUCATION, HEALTH AND BASIC NEEDS INITIATIVES THAT SERVES RESIDENTS IN FREMONT, LINCOLN, SUBLETTE, SWEETWATER AND UINTA COUNTIES, WYOMING. WORKPLACE GIVING IS THE SINGLE LARGEST AREA OF SUPPORT TO THE ANNUAL UNITED WAY OF SOUTHWEST WYOMING CAMPAIGN. DONATIONS ARE ALSO RECEIVED FROM CORPORATIONS, SMALL BUSINESSES AND INDIVIDUALS.
UNITED WAY OF SOUTHWEST WYOMING MANAGES DOLLY PARTONS IMAGINATION LIBRARY IN SOUTHWEST WYOMING. THIS PROGRAM MAILS A FREE, AGE APPROPRIATE BOOK EVERY MONTH TO CHILDREN FROM BIRTH TO AGE 5 THAT LIVE IN FREMONT, LINCOLN, SWEETWATER AND UINTA COUNTIES. CURRENTLY 2,601 CHILDREN ARE ENROLLED WITH 5,978 HAVING GRADUATED FROM THE PROGRAM. THIS IS PART OF OUR EDUCATION INITIATIVE TO HELP CHILDREN BE KINDERGARTEN READY. THE COST IS ABOUT $35 PER CHILD PER YEAR, WHICH IS LESS THAN $3 A MONTH. THE DOLLYWOOD FOUNDATION PAYS FOR THE BOOKS. OUR JOB IS TO RAISE THE FUNDS FOR THE SHIPPING OF THE BOOKS, PROMOTE THE PROGRAM AND TO MAINTAIN THE DATABASE BY REGISTERING CHILDREN AND APPROVING ON-LINE REGISTRATIONS. FUNDS ARE RAISED THROUGH GRANTS, INDIVIDUAL DONATIONS AND SPECIAL EVENTS LIKE OUR ANNUAL GOLF TOURNAMENT.
UWSW MANAGES COMMUNITY DIAPER BANKS IN SWEETWATER AND UINTA COUNTIES. DIAPER NEED IS THE LACK OF A SUFFICIENT SUPPLY OF DIAPERS TO KEEP AN INFANT OR TODDLER CLEAN, DRY AND HEALTHY. DIAPER ASSISTANCE IS NOT AVAILABLE THROUGH OTHER GOVERNMENT PROGRAMS. WITH THE HELP OF VOLUNTEERS AND PARTNERSHIPS WITH THE FOOD BANK OF SWEETWATER COUNTY, UINTA B.O.C.E.S. #1, LYMAN TOWN HALL AND COMMUNITY HEALTH CENTER IN WAMSUTTER, DIAPER BANKS AND PANTRIES ARE AVAILABLE IN ROCK SPRINGS, GREEN RIVER, WAMSUTTER, LYMAN AND EVANSTON. IN 2020, 88,285 DIAPERS WERE DISTRIBUTED THROUGHOUT THESE LOCATIONS.
