OUR AFTERSCHOOL & SUMMER MENTORSHIP PROGRAM ENGAGES YOUTH (AGES 10-21)IN A VARIETY OF ART, CRAFT, MUSIC, CULTURAL AND STEM ACTIVITIES DIRECTED BY STAFF USING TRAUMA-INFORMED PRACTICES. THESE YOUTH ARE EXTREMELY DISADVANTAGED SOCIOECONOMICALLY AND SUFFER HEALTH DISPARITIES. THEY HAVE HIGH RATES OF DELINQUENCY AND ABUSE, AND A DISPROPORTIONATE NUMBER OF OUR PARTICIPANTS HAVE LEARNING DISABILITIES. OUR PROGRAM CENTER PROVIDES A SAFE AND SUPPORTIVE ENVIRONMENT WHERE YOUTH LEARN TO EXPRESS THEMSELVES IN HEALTHY WAYS, FORM SUPPORTIVE RELATIONSHIPS, AND ACCESS ACADEMIC SUPPORT.
