VALUES STUDY IMPLEMENTATION - PROVIDE RESULTS OF A VALUES BASED STUDY TO PARTNERS AND STAKEHOLDERS. THIS HELPS PROVIDE UP-TO-DATE INFORMATION AROUND EVIDENCE BASED PRACTICES THROUGH WEBSITE INFORMATION, STAKEHOLDER MEETINGS, AND VARIOUS COMMUNCATIONS.
4TH EXEMPT PURPOSE: INCREASE ACCESS TO HEALTHY FOOD IN SCHOOLS - IMPLEMENTED STRATEGIES IN 38 UTAH SCHOOLS BY STARTING OR IMPROVING A FOOD PANTRY, ADDING FRESH FOODS AND PRODUCE TO A FOOD PANTRY, OR DOING A HEALTHY SNACK PROGRAM. EXAMPLE INCLUDE: CONNECTING WITH LOCAL FARMERS MARKETS, ADDING REFRIGERATION, AND STARTING HYDROPONICS STATIONS TO GROW THEIR OWN FOOD. 5TH EXEMPT PURPOSE: STRATEGY IMPLEMENTATION ACROSS VARIOUS PROGRAMS TO SUPPORT A HEALTHY UTAH.
HEALHTY UTAH COMMUNITIES - THIS PROGRAM WAS CREATED IN FALL 2020 FOR CITIES AND TOWNS, IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE UTAH LEAGUE OF CITIES AND TOWNS, TO PROVIDE SUPPORT AND HIGHLIGHT WORK BEING DONE AROUND COALITION-BUILDING, WORKING COLLABORATIVELY, ADRESSING ACCESS TO HEALTHY FOOD, ACTIVE LIVING, AND MENTAL HEALTH FOR COMMUNITIES TO IMPROVE THE HEALTH OF RESIDENTS.
DIABETES PREVENTION - ASSIST IN IMPROVING AWARENESS AND ACCESS TO THE NATIONAL DIABETES PREVENTION PROGRAM. THIS PROGRAM FOCUSES ON HELPING THOSE AT RISK FOR DEVELOPING TYPE 2 DIABETESIS THROUGH AN EVIDENCE-BASED LIFESTYLE CHANGE. THIS INCLUDES INCREASING PHYSICAL ACTIVITY, EATING HEALTHIER AND REDUCING STRESS. PURPOSE BEING TO EDUCATE AND WORK WITH EMPLOYERS AND PAYORS PROVIDING, REFERRING TO, AND/OR COVERING THE PROGRAM.
