WORKING WITH PARTNERS, KITO IMPACT FOUNDATION WORKS TO MERGE ENVIRONMENTAL SOLUTIONS WITH AGRICULTURE COMMODITY CHAINS AROUND THE WORLD. HEIFER INTERNATIONAL WORKS GLOBALLY TO ELIMINATE POVERTY. HOWEVER, THEY HAVE HISTORICALLY OPERATED OUTSIDE OF THE CONTEXT OF CLIMATE CHANGE AND ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACTS. KITO HAS WORKED WITH HEIFER TO INTEGRATE ENVIRONMENTAL SOLUTIONS INTO EXISTING AND EMERGENT PROGRAMS.
KITO IMPACT FOUNDATION WORKS TO ELIMINATE FOOD WASTE, REDUCE THE IMPACTS OF CLIMATE CHANGE, AND MITIGATE PLASTICS. WORKING WITH PARTNERS KITO DEVELOPED GRANT MAKING STRATEGIES FOR SMALL ORGANIZATIONS WITH A FOCUS ON PEOPLE OF COLOR AS BOTH BENEFACTORS AND LEADERSHIP OF ORGANIZATIONS. KITO ALSO WORKED ON INNOVATIVE STRATEGIES TO ELIMINATE SINGLE USE PLASTICS WITH CORPORATIONS.
KITO WORKED TO ELIMINATE THE USE OF RODENTICIDE FOR THE PROTECTION OF WILDLIFE INCLUDING RAPTORS, COUGARS, BOBCATS AND OTHER ENDANGERED SPECIES. WORKED WITH PARTNERS TO TRIAL ALTERNATIVE RODENT CONTROL MANAGEMENT STRATEGIES TO PROVIDE POLICY MAKERS VIABLE OPTIONS TO INFORM LEGISLATION OF RODENTICIDES. ALSO WORKED WITH AGRICULTURAL AND CORPORATE PARTNERS TO IDENTIFY NON-RODENTICIDE OPPORTUNITIES FOR RODENT MANAGEMENT STRATEGIES WITH A FOCUS ON BIOLOGICALLY IMPORTANT AREAS OR AREAS WERE TARGET SPECIES ARE DISPROPORTIONATELY IMPACTED BY RODENTICIDE USE.
