Part 3
2022 PROGRAM ACTIVITIES WERE LIMITED TO WRAPPING UP FOREIGN OBLIGATIONS FROM 4TH QUARTER 2021.
IN 2021, AFTER 15 YEARS OF HEALTH ALLIANCE INTERNATIONAL'S COTE D'IVOIRE PROGRAM (HAI-CI) STRENGTHENING THE IVORIAN GOVERNMENT'S CAPACITY TO PROVIDE HIV PREVENTION, CARE, AND TREATMENT SERVICES THROUGH THE PUBLIC SECTOR HEALTH SYSTEM, HAI-CI'S PRESENCE IN COTE D'IVOIRE CAME TO AN END. WITH PEPFAR'S TRANSITION TO PREFERRING LOCAL NGO GRANTEES, HAI, AS AN INTERNATIONAL NGO, WAS UNABLE TO COMPETE FOR RENEWAL FUNDING AND FINISHED ITS PROGRAMMATIC OPERATIONS IN-COUNTRY AT THE END OF SEPTEMBER 2021. ALL OF HAI-CI'S FORMER PEPFAR RESPONSIBILITIES WERE TRANSITIONED SUCCESSFULLY TO LOCAL NGO PARTNERS, ENSURING ONGOING SERVICE CONTINUITY.
IN 2021, AFTER MORE THAN 30 YEARS OF HEALTH ALLIANCE INTERNATIONAL MOZAMBIQUE (HAI-MZ) CONTRIBUTING SIGNIFICANT SUPPORT AND RESOURCES TO THE MOZAMBICAN HEALTH SYSTEM, HAI'S PRESENCE IN COUNTRY CAME TO A CLOSE AT THE END OF SEPTEMBER 2021. HAI-MZ'S FORMER PROGRAMS CONTINUED SEAMLESSLY UNDER NEW LOCAL NGO LEADERSHIP, PART OF HAI'S INTENTIONAL COMMITMENT TO SUPPORT THE DECOLONIZATION OF GLOBAL HEALTH THROUGH THE PROMOTION OF INCREASED LOCAL NGO CONTROL OF DONOR-DIRECTED RESOURCES. HAI IS GRATEFUL TO ITS FORMER FUNDERS FOR THEIR UNIVERSAL SUPPORT OF THIS LOCAL-NGO TRANSITION.
IN 2021, AFTER MORE THAN 20 YEARS OF HEALTH ALLIANCE INTERNATIONAL TIMOR-LESTE (HAI-TL) EXPANDING THE REACH OF EVIDENCE-BASED MATERNAL AND NEWBORN CHILD HEALTH (MNCH) INTERVENTIONS IN PARTNERSHIP WITH TIMOR-LESTE'S MINISTRY OF HEALTH AND NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF HEALTH, HAI'S PRESENCE IN COUNTRY CAME TO A CLOSE AT THE END OF SEPTEMBER 2021. HAI-TL'S FORMER PROGRAMS CONTINUED SEAMLESSLY UNDER NEW LOCAL NGO LEADERSHIP, PART OF HAI'S INTENTIONAL COMMITMENT TO SUPPORT THE DECOLONIZATION OF GLOBAL HEALTH THROUGH THE PROMOTION OF INCREASED LOCAL NGO CONTROL OF DONOR-DIRECTED RESOURCES. HAI IS GRATEFUL TO ITS FORMER FUNDERS FOR THEIR UNIVERSAL SUPPORT OF THIS LOCAL-NGO TRANSITION.
