THE MISSION OF TRUE CONNECTIONS COMMUNITY PROGRAMS IS TO HELP OUR CLIENTS BUILD LIFE SKILLS BASED ON CHOICES, INDIVIDUAL STRENGTHS, AND COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT. WE CREATE AND NURTURE CONNECTIONS BETWEEN PEOPLE WITH DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES AND THE DAVIS COMMUNITY THROUGH SOCIAL, COMMUNITY SERVICE AND PRE EMPLOYMENT SKILLS.

TRUE CONNECTIONS PROVIDED A VARIETY OF SERVICES TO THIRTY-FOUR ALTA REGIONAL CENTER CLIENTS DURING 2022. ALL OF OUR CLIENTS HAVE A DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITY. BY DECEMBER OF 2022 WE WERE SERVING THIRTY CLIENTS IN PERSON AT OUR ADULT DAY PROGRAM FACILITY. THESE SERVICES INCLUDED A VARIETY OF SOCIAL ACTIVITIES LIKE COMMUNICATION GROUPS, WEIRD SCIENCE, PAINTING, GAMES AND PRACTICING SOCIAL SKILLS. WE CONTINUED TO TEACH HEALTHY EATING IN OUR TEACHING KITCHEN. WE CONTINUED TO VOLUNTEER AT MEALS ON WHEELS DAVIS TWICE A WEEK. TRUE CONNECTIONS ALSO SUPPORTS TWO CLIENTS WHO OPERATE THEIR MICROENTERPRISE BY SEWING ITEMS AT PROGRAM, THEN SELLING THEM. FOUR CLIENTS RECEIVED IN PERSON SERVICES THROUGH OUR TAILORED DAY PROGRAM. TAILORED DAY PROVIDES SUPPORT TO CLIENTS ENROLLED IN POST-SECONDARY SCHOOLS. (WOODLAND COMMUNITY COLLEGE, CSU SACRAMENTO, SACRAMENTO COMMUNITY COLLEGE). COVID CONTINUED TO DAMPEN MANY OF OUR TRADITIONAL DAY PROGRAM ACTIVITIES. ALL CLIENTS AND STAFF WORE FACE MASKS, WE AVOIDED CROWDED SPACES LIKE PUBLIC BUSES, MOVIE THEATERS, BOWLING ALLEYS. WE AVOIDED MANY OF OUR COMMUNITY OUTINGS AND REMAINED IN OUR FACILITY MORE THAN USUAL. TRUE CONNECTIONS COMMUNITY PROGRAMS IS OPEN MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY, FROM 9AM TO 2PM. ALTA CALIFORNIA REGIONAL CENTER REFERS CLIENTS, THEY ALSO PAY THE DAILY FEE FOR EACH CLIENT.
