LIFE SERVICES ALTERNATIVES, INC. (LSA) PROVIDES RESIDENTIAL SERVICES AND SUPPORT FOR CONSUMERS WHO HAVE BEEN DIAGNOSED AS HAVING DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES. LSA OPERATES TWELVE HOMES WITH FIVE CONSUMERS EACH, UNDER CONTRACTS WITH SAN ANDREAS REGIONAL CENTER, INC. (SARC), WHICH ARE FUNDED THROUGH CONTRACTS WITH THE DEPARTMENT OF DEVELOPMENTAL SERVICES (DDS) OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA UNDER THE LANTERMAN DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES SERVICES ACT.THE $14,151,767 OF DIRECT GOVERNMENT FUNDING RECEIVED FOR SERVICES RENDERED UNDER THE SARC CONTRACTS IS CHARACTERIZED AS GOVERNMENT GRANT REVENUE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE IRS INSTRUCTIONS.
