ATHENA'S 2021 PROGRAM OF WORK INCLUDED COMMUNITY DISASTER RESPONSE AND ADDRESSED SOME OF THE ISSUES WHICH RESULTED FROM COVID-19. ATHENA'S PROGRAMS INCLUDED DESKS FOR KIDS, WHICH PROVIDED OVER 400 FREE DESKS FOR LOCAL CHILDREN WHO HAD TO SWITCH TO VIRTUAL LEARNING DURING THE PANDEMIC. ADDITIONALLY, ATHENA PROVIDED FUNDING FOR MAKERSPACES TO PRODUCE FACE MASKS. ATHENA ALSO HELD THE ALEXANDRIA DRIVE-IN, A DRIVE-IN MOVIE THEATRE WHICH SERVED AS A FUNDRAISER FOR ATHENA AND OTHER COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS. THE PROCEEDS FROM THIS EVENT ALSO SUPPORT A SCHOLARSHIP FOR THE SCHOLARSHIP FUND OF ALEXANDRIA.
