CHPA'S MISSION IS TO BRING TOGETHER A COALITION OF BUSINESS, LABOR, CONTRACTOR, NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS, AND EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS WITH THE COMMON PURPOSE TO EDUCATE ALL AMERICANS ABOUT COMBINED HEAT AND POWER (CHP) AND WASTE HEAT TO POWER (WHP), AND HOW CHP AND WHP CAN MAKE AMERICA'S MANUFACTURERS AND OTHER BUSINESSES MORE COMPETITIVE, REDUCE ENERGY COSTS, ENHANCE GRID RELIABILITY, AND REDUCE EMISSIONS.

LEGISLATIVE ADVOCACY: ADVOCATED FOR PRO-CHP POLICIES THROUGH A NUMBER OF AVENUES: CAMPAIGNED AND SIGNED ONTO LETTERS OF SUPPORT, SUBMITTED COMMENTS, AND PROVIDED RECOMMENDATIONS ON LEGISLATIVE ACTIONS AT BOTH THE FEDERAL AND STATE LEVELS. MET WITH LEGISLATORS ON PRO-CHP POLICIES. SET AND MANAGED STATE AND FEDERAL POLICY PRIORITIES AMONGST MEMBERS WITH REGULARLY SCHEDULED POLICY COMMITTEE MEETINGS. ADVOCATED IN VA TO ACCELERATE THE DEPLOYMENT BY NATURAL GAS COMPANIES OF RENEWABLE NATURAL GAS AND OTHER DECARBONIZED FUEL, ENERGY EFFICIENCY, AND COMBINED HEAT AND POWER.


OUTREACH AND EDUCATION: ENGAGED IN ACTIVITIES TO EDUCATE POLICYMAKERS, GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS, AND THE PUBLIC ABOUT CHP. HELD OVER A DOZEN MEETINGS WITH FEDERAL POLICYMAKERS AND THEIR STAFF ON THE BENEFITS OF CHP, ORGANIZED MULTIPLE WEBINARS ON CHP TECHNOLOGIES AND BENEFITS, HELD THE THIRD ANNUAL NATIONAL SUMMIT ON CHP'S ROLE IN A CLEAN ENERGY FUTURE, ROUTINELY SHARED INFORMATION WITH A DIVERSE AUDIENCE ACROSS SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORMS, AND PUBLISHED VARIOUS FACTSHEETS, BLOGPOSTS, AND BRIEFS ON CHP-RELATED TOPICS.
