OPEN ARMS HOME FOR CHILDREN PROVIDES RESIDENTIAL RESOURCES AND EDUCATION TO CHILDREN AND YOUNG ADULTS RAISED AT OPEN ARMS WHO ARE VICTIMS OF THE AIDS PANDEMIC IN SOUTH AFRICA OR OTHER TRAGIC CIRCUMSTANCES THAT CAUSED THEM TO BECOME HOMELESS. THEY ARE PROVIDED WITH DAILY NEEDS OF FOOD CLOTHING AND SHELTER IN A LOVING AND CARING ENVIRONMENT. EDUCATION IS PRE-SCHOOL THROUGH HIGH SCHOOL PLUS VOCATIONAL TRAINING OR COLLEGE FOR THOSE WHO HAVE OBTAINED THEIR MAJORITY BUT ARE NOT YET READY TO LIVE INDEPENDENTLY. THIS IS NOT AN ADOPTION AGENCY IT IS A FOREVER HOME FOR THESE CHILDREN. THE AGENCY CARED FOR 60 CHILDREN AT DECEMBER 31.

THE AGENCY CONSIDERS CARE OF ALL THE CHILDREN AS ONE PROGRAM. THEY ARE PROVIDED WITH FOOD CLOTHING SHELTER AND EDUCATION IN A SAFE AND LOVING ENVIRONMENT. THE CHILDREN LIVE ON CAMPUS IN RONDULAS SUPERVISED BY MAMAS AND TATAS YOUNG ADULTS GENERALLY LIVE IN SUPERVISED HOUSING. OPEN ARMS CARES FOR THE WHOLE CHILD INCLUDING DEVELOPMENTAL AND SOCIAL NEEDS. THEY ENJOY SUPERVISED EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES SUCH AS SPORTS OR THE ARTS.
