IN 2021, ARTS COUNCIL NORTHEAST PROVIDED OVER 28 FREE MASTERWORKS CONCERTS THROUGHOUT THE YEAR WITH 5,000 IN ATTENDANCE. THIS PROGRAM EMPLOYS LOCAL AND REGIONAL TALENT IN ADDITION TO CONTRIBUTING TO THE LOCAL ECONOMY AS PEOPLE WHO ATTEND THE CONCERTS FREQUENTLY PATRONIZE LOCAL RESTAURANTS EITHER BEFORE OR AFTER THE CONCERTS. MANY ATTENDEES TOLD OUR EMCEE HOW MUCH THEY ENJOYED, LOOKED FORWARD TO AND APPRECIATED THE CONCERTS.
THE SUMMER ARTS COLLEGE IS A UNIQUE OPPORTUNITY FOR CHILDREN AGES 6-16 TO LEARN WITH SOME OF THE AREA'S TOP ARTISTS. STUDENTS RECEIVE A TASTE OF THE PERFORMING AND VISUAL ARTS.STUDENTS RECEIVE FULL OR PARTIAL SCHOLARSHIPS THAT ARE OFFERED SO NO CHILD WILL BE TURNED AWAY. IN 2021 THIS PROGRAM WAS POSTPONNED UNTIL THE PASSING OR CONTROL OF THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC.
THE ART ON WHEELS PROGRAMS BRINGS ART TO INDIVIDUALS WHO ARE UNABLE TO ATTEND ART CLASSES OUTSIDE THEIR LIVING ENVIRONMENT. A TOTAL OF 54 CLASSES WERE HELD IN 2021. THE INSTRUCTORS PROVIDE STEP-BY-STEP INSTRUCTIONS AND AT THE END OF THE CLASS, THE PARTICIPANTS EACH HAVE THEIR OWN WORK OF ART THAT THEY CREATED TO KEEP AND TREASURE.
