THE PURPOSE OF THE SHERIFF'S POSSE IS TO COOPERATE WITH OR ASSIST LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCIES, AND ANY PUBLIC OR PRIVATE AGENCIES OR GROUPS CONCERNED WITH LAW ENFORCEMENT, IN THE EDUCATION OF THE PUBLIC OR OF ANY CLASS OR GROUP THEREOF, FOR THE PREVENTION OR DETECTION OF CRIMINAL ACTS OR OMISSIONS AND REHABILITATION OF PERSONS CONVICTED OR CRIMES OF ANY NATURE. THE PURPOSE IS ALSO TO PROVIDE INFORMATION, SERVICES, PROPERTY OR FUNDS FOR THE BENEFIT, WELFARE OR EDUCATION OF YOUTH;TO PROMOTE GOOD CITIZENSHIP AND THE MENTAL, MORAL AND PHYSICAL BETTERMENT OF YOUTH;TO PROMOTE ACTIVITIES AND PROVIDE SERVICES, MONEY, PROPERTY OR ASSIST IN THE AWARD OR GRANT OF SCHOLARSHIPS TO OR FOR YOUTH OR ANY DESERVING PERSON.
