PORAC PROGRAMS-THE SPOA CONTRIBUTES TO THE PEACE OFFICERS RESEARCH ASSOCIATION (PORAC). PORAC PROVIDES INSURANCE AND DISABILITY BENEFITS FOR THE MEMBERS. ADDITIONALLY, THE SPOA CONTRIBUTES TO THE PORAC LEGAL DEFENCE FUND. THIS FUND IS THE NATION'S LARGEST LEGAL DEFENSE FUND RUN BY AND FOR PEACE OFFICERS. THE FUND IS AN ERISA TRUST THAT PROVIDES LEGAL SERVICE BENEFITS FOR PUBLIC SAFETY PERSONAL.
INSURANCE-THE SPOA COLLECTS DUES FROM THE STOCKTON POLICE OFFICERS. A PORTION OF THESE DUES ARE ALLOCATED TO PROVIDE MEMBERS WITH LIFE AND DISABILITY INSURANCE FOR THEIR BENEFIT.
THE SPOA ALLOCATES FUNDS TO THE STOCKTON POLICE OFFICERS BENEFIT ASSOCIATION (AN IRC SECTION 501(C)(3) ORGANIZATION) WHICH SUPPORTS LOCAL CHARITIES AND STUDENT SCHOLARSHIPS. IN ADDITION THE SPOA WILL DONATE TO OTHER ORGANIZATIONS TO FOSTER COMMUNITY SUPPORT.
