THE WINSTON COUNTY FARM BUREAU STRUCTURE OF ORGANIZATIONAL LEADERSHIP PROVIDES MANY OPPORTUNITIES FOR MEMBERS TO KEEP ABREAST OF ISSUES THAT AFFECT AGRICULTURE. MEMBERS CAN PARTICIPATE IN DISTRICT, STATE AND NATIONAL ORGANIZATIONAL AND EDUCATIONAL CONFERENCES TO LEARN ABOUT CURRENT ISSUES FACING AGRICULTURE.


POLICY DEVELOPMENT:IN ORDER TO PROTECT & PROMOTE THE AGRICULTURE INDUSTRY THE WINSTON COUNTY FARM BUREAU, THROUGH ITS STRUCTURE OF VOLUNTEER LEADERS, SUPPORTS PUBLIC POLICY EFFORTS AT THE LOCAL, STATE AND NATIONAL LEVEL. THIS IS ACCOMPLISHED THROUGH LEGISLATIVE AND REGULATORY MONITORING COMMUNICATION WITH MEMBERS AND PUBLIC AWARENESS PROGRAMS. VOLUNTEER MEMBERS PARTICIPATED IN MEETINGS WITH LOCAL LEGISLATURES, AGRICULTURAL AGENCIES AND FAMERS ABOUT AGRICULTURAL POLICIES AND CONCERNS.


WINSONT COUNTY FARM BUREAU PARTICIPATES ANNUAL IN THE SAFETY PROGRAMS THAT ARE OFFERED THROUGH THE MISSISSIPPI FARM BUREAU FEDERATION. SEVERAL CPR AND FIRST AID CLASSES ARE TAUGHT THROUGHOUT THE YEAR. FATAL VISION/TEXTING PROGRAMS, LAWN/TRACTOR SAFETY PROGRAMS ARE ALSO TAUGHT. IN ADDITION THE WOMENS COMMITTEE PROVIDE PROGRAMS IN THE SCHOOL TO ENCOURAGE FUTURE INTEREST IN A CAREER IN AGRICULTURAL.
