PUBLIC POLICY PROGRAMS IN ORDER TO PROTECT & PROMOTE THE AGRICULTURE INDUSTRY THE MAURY CO FARM BUREAU THROUGH ITS STRUCTURE OF VOLUNTEER LEADERS SUPPORTS PUBLIC POLICY EFFORTS AT THE LOCAL STATE & NATIONAL LEVEL. THIS IS ACCOMPLISHED THROUGH BOTH LEGISLATIVE & REGULATORY MONITORING COMMUNICATIONS WITH MEMBERS & PUBLIC AWARENESS PROGRAMS ABOUT FARMING & RURAL LIFE & PROVIDE INFORMATION ABOUT THE AGRICULTURE INDUSTRY. VOLUNTEER BOARD MEMBERS PARTICIPATE IN THE SPONSORSHIP OF MEET THE CANDIDATE ACTIVITIES & YEARLY POLICY MEETINGS WITH THEIR LEGISLATORS TO EDUCATE THEM ABOUT AG POLICY & HOW THE INDUSTRY IS IMPACTED BY LAWMAKERS.

AGRICULTURE EDUCATION ACTIVITIES MAURY COUNTY FARM BUREAU SPONSORS & ORGANIZED A COUNTYWIDE FARM DAY FOR 1000 OR MORE 3RD GRADE STUDENTS, TEACHERS, & PARENTS FROM LOCAL SCHOOLS. MORE THAN A DOZEN INTERACTIVE EXHIBITS TEACH ABOUT FOOD & FIBER & AGRICULTURES IMPORTANCE IN EVERYONES LIVES. ADOPT-A-SCHOOL PARTICIPATION WITH A RURAL K-12 SCHOOL ACTIVITIES. AGRICULTURE-IN-THE-CLASSROOM DONATIONS EDUCATE TEACHERS IN ALL GRADE LEVELS ON HOW TO USE AG-BASED LESONS TO TEACH BASIC SKILLS TO STUDENTS. MAURY COUNTY FARM BUREAU MEMBERS LEAD THE STATE IN PRIVATE DONATIONS TO THE STATEWIDE AGRICULTURE-IN-THE-CLASSROOM FOUNDATION.
