PUBLIC POLICY PROGRAMS:IN ORDER TO PROTECT & PROMOTE THE AGRICULTURE INDUSTRY, AMITE COUNTY FARM BUREAU THROUGH ITS STRUCTURE OF VOLUNTEER LEADERS, SUPPORTS PUBLIC POLICY EFFORTS AT THE LOCAL, STATE, ANDNATIONAL LEVEL. THIS IS ACCOMPLISHED THROUGH LEGISLATIVE AND REGULATORY MONITORING, COMMUNICATION WITH MEMBERS, AND PUBLIC AWARENESS PROGRAMS. VOLUNTEER MEMBERS PARTICIPATE IN YEARLY MEETINGS WITH STATE LEGISLATURE TO EDUCATE THEM ABOUT AGRICULTURAL POLICY.


AGRICULTURE LEADERSHIP ACTIVITIES:AMITE COUNTY FARM BUREAU STRUCTURE OF ORGANIZATIONAL LEADERSHIP PROVIDES MANY OPPORTUNITIES FOR MEMBER LEADERS TO KEEP ABREAST OF ISSUES THAT AFFECT AGRICULTURE. LOCAL BOARD MEMBERS ATTENDED STATE CONFERENCES TO NETWORK WITH FARMERS FOR EDUCATIONAL MEETINGS AND ISSUES FACING THEAGRICULTURE INDUSTRY.


THE AMITE COUNTY FARM BUREAU IS INVOLVED IN THE PROMOTION OF YOUTH AND YOUTH ACTIVITIES TOWARD A CAREER IN AGRICULTURE. THIS IS ACCOMPLISHED BY PROGRAMS IN SCHOOLS AND CAMPS.
