FINANCIAL CAPABILITY OCCURS THROUGH AFTER-SCHOOL PROGRAM ENRICHMENTS FOR K-8, FAMILY WORKSHOPS, AND YOUNG ADULT BOOT CAMPS. A FUTURE WORKFORCE PROGRAM TEACHES FINANCIAL FITNESS AND SOFT JOB SKILLS WHILE PAYING STIPENDS FOR SPENDING AND FOR RESTRICTED SAVINGS ACCOUNTS. DESIRABLE NEIGHBORHOOD ACTIVITIES LEVERAGE VOLUNTEERS AND PARTNERSHIPS WITH LANDLORDS AND OUTSIDE AGENCIES TO WORK TOWARD STABILIZING THE NEIGHBORHOOD FAMILIES AND BEAUTIFYING THE BLIGHTED NEIGHBORHOOD. ACTIVITIES INCLUDE NEIGHBORHOOD CLEANUPS, LANDSCAPING, HOME REPAIRS, AND RENOVATIONS. A HEALTHY COMMUNITY IS ENCOURAGED THROUGH ACTIVITIES SUCH AS: NEIGHBORHOOD CHRISTMAS STORE, COMMUNITY GATHERINGS, AFTER-SCHOOL ENRICHMENTS, HEALTHY MEALS AND SNACKS, FITNESS ACTIVITIES FOR ALL AGES, AND TRIPS TO THE LOCAL FARMER'S MARKET FOLLOWED BY GROUP MEAL PREPARATION. VOLUNTEERS ARE VITAL RESOURCES FOR DELIVERING PROGRAMS. IN 2021, 678 UNDUPLICATED VOLUNTEERS LOGGED 4,431 HOURS THROUGH PSM AND 50 OF THOSE VOLUNTEERS WERE NEIGHBORHOOD RESIDENTS.
