HEAD START PROGRAM - HEAD START IS A COMPREHENSIVE SCHOOL READINESS PROGRAM WHICH ENHANCES THE SOCIAL, PHYSICAL, AND COGNITIVE DEVELOPMENT OF LOW-INCOME, AT-RISK CHILDREN.


THE LOW INCOME HOME ENERGY ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (LIHEAP) HELPS LOW-INCOME HOUSEHOLDS MEET THE COSTS OF COOLING/ HEATING THEIR HOMES. LIHEAP OFFERS 2 PROGRAMS: HOME ENERGY AND CRISIS ENERGY. HOME ENERGY FUNDS ARE PROVIDED ONCE A YEAR AND ARE BASED ON THE CLIENTS GROSS INCOME AND HOUSEHOLD SIZE. CRISIS FUNDING IS AVAILABLE WHEN A CLIENT EXPERIENCES A FINANCIAL CRISIS. IT HELPS KEEP ELECTRICITY ON, OR RESTORES IT IF NEEDED. IN THE 2022 FISCAL YEAR, EOC ASSISTED OVER THREE THOUSAND HOUSEHOLDS WITH UTILITY ASSISTANCE.


THE VOLUNTARY PRE-KINDERGARTEN PROGRAM PROVIDES DEVELOPMENTALLY APPROPRIATE INSTRUCTION AND ACTIVITIES TO PREPARE CHILDREN FOR KINDERGARTEN. THIS PROGRAM INCLUDES 540 INSTRUCTIONAL HOURS OVER THE COURSE OF THE SCHOOL YEAR.
