SERVING THE HOMELESS POPULATION AND LOW INCOME PERSONS TO PROVIDE AFFORDABLE LIVING AND ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITIES

SUPPORTIVE HOUSING - IN 2021, PATHLIGHT HOME SERVED APPROXIMATELY 700 INDIVIDUALS, WITH RESIDENTS RECEIVING CASE MANAGEMENT SERVICES THROUGH ONE OF PATHLIGHT HOMES SUPPORTIVE HOUSING PROGRAMS. RESIDENTS SERVED INCLUDE AFRICAN AMERICAN (55%) WHITE (43%) AND OTHER (2%), MALE (54%) FEMALE (46%) AND 51 YEARS OF AGE OR OLDER (68%). THE AVERAGE LENGTH OF STAY IS 3.1 YEARS. SINCE MOVING IN TO PATHLIGHT HOME, RESIDENTS HAVE IMPROVED THEIR HOUSING SITUATIONS, SAFETY, PARENTING SKILLS, AND MANAGEMENT OF THEIR DISABILITIES.
TRAINING/ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITIES - PATHLIGHT HOME SERVES INDIVIDUALS WITH BARRIERS TO EMPLOYMENTTHROUGH THEIR PROGRAM, PATHLIGHT KITCHEN. PATHLIGHT KITCHEN OFFERS 12-WEEK BASIC CULINARYTRAINING INCLUDING A FOOD HANDLER MANAGEMENT CERTIFICATION, AND SERVSAFE, AND DINING ROOM AND TABLESERVICE SKILLS. 85% OF PATHLIGHT KITCHEN PARTICIPANTS OBTAINED OR MAINTAINED EMPLOYMENT 6 MONTHSAFTER THE PROGRAM, COMPARED TO ONLY 12% WHO WERE EMPLOYED PRIOR TO THE PROGRAM. DURING 2021 THEREWERE 12 PARTICIPANTS IN THESE TRAINING CLASSES DUE TO COVID RESTRICTIONS.RESOURCE CENTER/ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITIES - EMPLOYMENT COUNSELING WAS OFFERED TO OVER 671 PERSONS BY OUR TRAINED EMPLOYMENT COUNSELORS. WE ALSO PROVIDED COMPUTERS FOR JOB SEEKERS TO APPLY ONLINE AND TO SEARCH FOR JOBS. WE ALSO PROVIDED CLASSES IN RESUME BUILDING, INTERVIEWING AND JOB SEARCHING.
DAY SERVICES - PATHWAYS DROP IN CENTER WAS ACQUIRED IN JULY OF 2021 WHILE CLOSED DUE TO COVID RESTRICTIONS. IT WAS REOPENED IN OCTOBER OF 2021. THE CENTER PROVIDES MEALS, SOCIAL SERVICES AND PEER COUNSELING FOR VERY LOW INCOME AND HOMELESS PERSONS WITH SERIOUS MENTAL ILLNESS. OVER 100 PERSONS WERE SERVED THROUGH THE END OF 2021.
