SPRING DEFENDER COLLEGE 2021 IS A SPECIAL PROGRAM DESIGNED FOR ASSISTANT PUBLIC DEFENDERS WITH LESS THAN 18 MONTHS OF EXPERIENCE. IT IS AN INTENSIVE TRAINING COURSE THAT GIVES ATTORNEYS IN-DEPTH ANSWERS TO BASIC TRIAL QUESTIONS AND PERSONALIZED ATTENTION. THE COURSE FEATURED BOTH LARGE GROUP LECTURE SESSIONS AND SMALL GROUP PRACTICE SESSIONS. THE INCOME WAS $10,265 - THERE WERE 48 ASSISTANT PUBLIC DEFENDERS THAT ATTENDED AND 12 GROUP LEADER ATTORNEYS CONSISTING OF BOTH CURRENT AND RETIRED ASSISTANT PUBLIC DEFENDERS, AND PRIVATE ATTORNEYS.
ETHICS TRAINING: ZEALOUS DEFENSE IN UNSETTLING TIMES WAS A TRAINING PROVIDED ONLINE FOR ATTORNEYS TO HAVE ADVANCED TRAINING ON THEIR ETHICAL OBLIGATIONS DURING THE NEW COURT PROCEDURES BROUGHT ON BY COVID-19 PANDEMIC. THE INCOME WAS $1,800- THERE WERE 90 ASSISTANT PUBLIC DEFENDER ATTORNEYS IN ATTENDANCE. CONSTITUTIONAL CHALLENGES TO ZOOM COURT HEARINGS TRAINING WAS PROVIDED ONLINE FOR ASSISTANT PUBLIC DEFENDERS TO HAVE ADVANCED TRAINING ON LEGAL HURDLES OF ZOOM COURT. THE INCOME WAS $1,840 - THERE WERE 92 ASSISTANT PUBLIC DEFENDER ATTORNEYS IN ATTENDANCE.
