THE LRIS STAFF ANSWERED OVER 51,000 CALLS OVER THE COURSE OF THE YEAR WHICH GENERATED OVER 17,000 REFERRALS TO QUALIFIED, SERVICE-ORIENTED LAWYERS OF THE ATLANTA LEGAL COMMUNITY. THE LRIS ATTORNEY PANEL BOASTS 187 QUALIFIED LAWYERS WHO ARE QUALIFIED IN SPECIFIC AREAS OF LAW. THE LRIS MODEST MEANS PROGRAM (MMP) PROVIDES AFFORDABLE LEGAL ASSISTANCE TO THE PUBLIC WHO CANNOT AFFORD TO PAY AVERAGE ATTORNEY FEES, BUT WHO DO NOT QUALIFY TO RECEIVE FREE LEGAL SERVICES AND THIS YEAR SERVED MANY INDIVIDUALS THROUGHOUT THE COMMUNITY.
CONTINUING LEGAL EDUCATION THE CONTINUING LEGAL EDUCATION PROGRAM, UNDER THE OVERSIGHT OF THE CLE BOARD OF TRUSTEES, PRESENTED MANY OUTSTANDING PROGRAMS OVER THE COURSE OF THIS YEAR WITH EXCELLENT ATTENDANCE.
BAR WIDE EVENTS AND ACTIVITIES SECTION ACTIVITIES INCLUDED EVENTS THAT PROVIDED MEMBERS WITH EDUCATION, PRACTICE DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS AND NETWORKING SOCIALS; THE LEGAL RUNAROUND 5K RACE FUNDRAISER; CELEBRATING SERVICE LUNCHEON AND PRO BONO AWARDS LUNCHEON. WHISKY TASTING, TRIVIA NIGHT AND PARTY UNDER THE STARS FUNDRAISER OF THE ATLANTA BAR FOUNDATION WHICH SUPPORTED PROGRAMS OF THE ATLANTA BAR SUCH AS THE MINORITY AND DIVERSITY CLERKSHIP PROGRAM AND SUMMER LAW INTERN PROGRAM, AS WELL AS PRO BONO ORGANIZATIONS IN THE COMMUNITY THROUGH THE FOUNDATION'S GRANTS PROGRAM.
