THE FOUNDATION IS A PUBLIC CHARITY ENABLING GEORGIA PHYSICIANS TO SUPPORT AND ENGAGE IN CHARITABLE AND EDUCATIONAL PROJECTS AFFECTING MEDICINE AND PUBLIC HEALTH.

THE "THINK ABOUT IT" CAMPAIGN IS A PROGRAM TO PREVENT THE ABUSE OF PRESCRIPTION DRUGS THROUGH EDUCATION OF PHYSICIANS, BUSINESSES, AND THE GENERAL PUBLIC, AND FACILITATION OF THE SYSTEMIC CHANGES NEEDED TO COMBAT THE PROBLEM. TO ACCOMPLISH THIS, THE FOUNDATION, THROUGH "THINK ABOUT IT" IS BRINGING TOGETHER INTO A CONCERTED EFFORT THE PHYSICIAN COMMUNITY, LOCAL DRUG COALITIONS, STATE AND FEDERAL GOVERNMENT AGENCIES, AND OTHER HEALTHCARE RELATED ORGANIZATIONS CAPABLE OF AFFECTING THE NEEDED CHANGES IN ATTITUDE AND PROCESSES.
THE GPLA IS A FOUNDATION PROGRAM DESIGNED TO PROVIDE A LEADERSHIP EXPERIENCE BENEFITING AND EDUCATING PHYSICIANS WHO WANT TO IMPROVE HEALTH CARE DELIVERY FOR THEIR PATIENTS, COMMUNITIES, AND THE MEDICAL PROFESSION. EACH PARTICIPANT ATTENDS OVER A ONE-YEAR PERIOD SIX SESSIONS COMPRISED OF INTERACTIVE CLASSES ENABLING THE STUDENTS TO ENHANCE THEIR LEADERSHIP SKILLS AND DEVELOP CONTINUING RELATIONSHIPS WITH COLLEAGUES.
THE MAG FOUNDATION INITIATED A CAMPAIGN TO EDUCATE THE PUBLIC ON THE HAZARDS OF DISTRACTED DRIVING. THE CAMPAIGN WAS KNOWN AS 'MAKE GEORGIA HANDS-FREE."
