MEMBER SERVICES AND COMMUNICATIONS: THE ASSOCIATION DISSEMINATES INFORMATION TO ITS MEMBERS AS IT RELATES TO CHANGES IN THE NURSING PROFESSION AND ALSO SEEKS TO EDUCATE THE GENERAL PUBLIC ABOUT THE PROFESSION AS WELL AS HEALTH ISSUES.
EDUCATION AND CONFERENCES: THE ASSOCIATION PROVIDES EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS AND CONFERENCES DESIGNED TO MAINTAIN AND IMPROVE THE SKILLS OF ITS MEMBERS. AS AN ACCREDITED APPROVER OF CONTINUING NURSING EDUCATION BY THE AMERICAN NURSES CREDENTIALING CENTER'S COMMISSION ON ACCREDITATION, THE ASSOCIATION OFFERS AN APPROVED PROVIDER PROCESS WHEREBY PROVIDERS OF NURSING EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES CAN OBTAIN APPROVED PROVIDER STATUS FOR UP TO A THREE-YEAR PERIOD.
GOVERNMENT AND HEALTH POLICY: THE ASSOCIATION REPRESENTS THE NURSING PROFESSION IN REGARD TO LEGISLATION, GOVERNMENTAL PROGRAMS, AND HEALTH POLICY BY MAINTAINING REGISTERED LOBBYISTS IN THE STATE GENERAL ASSEMBLY WHEN IT IS IN SESSION.
