EDUCATION: PROVIDED EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES TO ONCOLOGY PHYSICIANS AND THEIR ADMINISTRATIVE STAFF THROUGH CONFERENCES, SPECIAL MEETINGS, AND GENERAL MEMBERSHIP MEETINGS. TOPICS INLUDE CLINICAL TRIALS, EXCEPTIONAL PERFORMANCE, MEDICARE, CANCER SPONSORSHIP, FEDERAL AND STATE LEGISLATIVE UPDATES, AND COMMERCIAL PAYOR RELATIONS.
TO EDUCATE AND SHARE BEST PRACTICES AMONG CANCER PATIENT NAVIGATORS IN GEORGIA.
LEGISLATION MONITORING: MONITORED STATE LEGISLATION AFFECTING ONCOLOGY PHYSICIANS AND ADVOCATED FOR INCREASE IN STATE TOBACCO TAX. CONTRARY TO THE POSITION TAKEN LAST YEAR OPPOSING CHANGES TO STATE MEDICAID REIMBURSEMENT PERCENTAGES FOR PHYSICIAN ADMINISTERED DRUGS, AN INCREASE TO MEDICAID PROVIDER REIMBURSEMENT RATES FOR ONCOLOGY SERVICES IS NOW BEING SOUGHT.
