THE ARK OPENED ITS DOORS IN SEPTEMBER OF 2023. THIS FIRST YEAR HAS BEEN SURPRISINGLY SUCCESSFUL. WE HAVE OVER 400 MEMBERS ALREADY AND HAVE HAD WELL OVER 2,500 NEW VISITORS. WE HAVE LEARNED A LOT IN THE PROCESS AND PLAN TO BUILD ON THE PROGRESS THAT WE HAVE STARTED IN THE UPCOMING YEAR.THE INCOME THAT HAS COME FROM THE PROPERTIES HAVE PRETTY MUCH COME TO AN END. WE ARE FOCUSING LESS ON THE RESIDENTIAL REAL ESTATE AND MORE ON THE COMMERCIAL REAL ESTATE THAT WE ALREADY OWN. WE ONLY HAVE 2 RESIDENTIAL PROPERTIES LEFT. ONE WILL EVENTUALLY BE SOLD AND THE OTHER IS RENTAL PROPERTY.THE CHILDCARE CENTER IS STILL OPERATING FOR NOW, BUT IT IS SLOWING DOWN FROM THE LARGE OPERATION THAT WE ONCE HAD. WE ARE NOT GROWING AS WE WERE ONCE BEFORE BECAUSE COMPETITION AND POPULATION DECLINE. BUT THE CHILDCARE INCOME STILL COVERS ITS OWN OPERATING COST AND COST TO OPERATE THE WHEATLEY.
