THE ANTIQUES & GARDEN SHOW OF NASHVILLE IS AN ANNUAL CHARITY EVENT WHOSE PURPOSE IS TO RAISE FUNDS FOR CHEEKWOOD BOTANICAL GARDEN & MUSEUM OF ART AND THE ECONOMIC CLUB OF NASHVILLE (ECON) CHARITIES, INC., BY EXHIBITING THE HIGHEST QUALITY OF ANTIQUES, LANDSCAPED GARDENS AND HORTICULTURAL ITEMS AND BY OFFERING A RELATED EDUCATIONAL OUTREACH PROGRAM.

IN FEBRUARY 2022 THE ANTIQUES AND GARDEN SHOW OF NASHVILLE CELEBRATED ITS 32ND YEAR AT THE MUSIC CITY CENTER. THE SHOW HAS BEEN HELD THERE SINCE IT OPENED IN 2013 AND PROVED TO BE ANOTHER SUCCESSFUL YEAR. MANY PREVIOUS DEALERS RETURNED ALONG WITH NEW ONES TO BRING A FRESH PERSPECTIVE TO THE AUDIENCE. THE SHOW OPENED ON THURSDAY EVENING WITH THE TRADITIONAL BENEFACTOR'S RECEPTION FROM 5:30 TO 6:30 WHERE 200+ GOLDEN BENEFACTORS, BENEFACTORS AND VIP GUESTS CELEBRATED THE KICKOFF OF THE SHOW. THE PREVIEW PARTY FOLLOWED FROM 6:30 TO 9:30PM WHERE OVER 2,000 GUESTS ENJOYED HEAVY HORS D'OEUVRES AND A GREAT PREVIEW OF ALL THE VENDOR BOOTHS AND SPECTACULAR GARDENS. THE SHOW OPENED ON FRIDAY MORNING AND CONTINUED THROUGH SUNDAY AFTERNOON. ATTENDANCE WAS ESTIMATED TO BE APPROXIMATELY 16,000 WHICH WAS CONSIDERED SUCCESSFUL. TICKETS WERE PURCHASED FROM 48 VARIOUS STATES WITH THE MAJORITY BEING IN THE SOUTHEAST REGION.WE CONTINUED TO STREAMLINE EXPENSES WHEREVER POSSIBLE UTILIZING VOLUNTEERS, SECURING IN-KIND DONATIONS AND TARGETING MARKETING THROUGH INCREASED SOCIAL MEDIA EXPOSURE. THE ANTIQUES AND GARDEN SHOW WAS HONORED TO PRESENT A STELLAR LINEUP OF LECTURE GUESTS ONCE AGAIN FOR THE 2022 SHOW. CELEBRATING THE 32ND YEAR, THE CHAIRMEN WERE DELIGHTED FOR MARTHA STEWART TO BE THE FEATURED KEYNOTE SPEAKER ON FRIDAY. HAVING MARTHA STEWART BROUGHT RECORD ATTENDANCE TO THE SHOW AND HELPED MAKE THE 2022 SHOW THE MOST SUCCESSFUL TO DATE. THE KEYNOTE LECTURE SOLD OUT WITH 1792 IN ATTENDANCE. THE CHAIRMEN ALSO INVITED INTERNATIONALLY KNOWN INTERIOR DESIGNER, AND NATIONAL ADVISORY COUNCIL MEMBER, BUNNY WILLIAMS, TO SERVE AS HONORARY CHAIRMAN AND WAS THE FRIDAY AFTERNOON SPEAKER. IT WAS THE GARDEN & DESIGN LECTURE: THE MAKING OF A GARDEN OVER 30 YEARS, WHICH HAD EXCELLENT ATTENDANCE AND WAS FOLLOWED BY A BOOK SIGNING. ON SATURDAY, A LIFESTYLE LECTURE WAS FEATURED IN THE MORNING, A CONVERSATION WITH CLEA SHEARER AND JOANNA TEPLIN OF THE HOME EDIT. THE AFTERNOON LECTURE WAS A DESIGN PANEL OF ALEXA HAMPTON IN CONVERSATION WITH JENN & MIKE GRACE, CHRISTOPHER SPITZMILLER AND ASHLEY WHITAKER. BOTH SATURDAY LECTURES SOLD OVER 1,000 TICKETS. THE KEYNOTE EVENT WAS SPONSORED BY MILIEU MAGAZINE. WITH SO MUCH EXCITEMENT TO BE BACK IN PERSON AGAIN AFTER CANCELING THE 2021 SHOW, THE BOURBON PARTY WAS HOSTED ON FRIDAY EVENING, TARGETING A YOUNG 25-40-YEAR-OLD CROWD. WE PARTNERED WITH BROWN-FORMAN AND HOSTED THE EVENT IN THE CENTER GARDEN. A NEW AUDIENCE OF GUESTS WERE INTRODUCED TO THE ANTIQUES MARKET, EDUCATED ABOUT DESIGN AND LIFESTYLE ENTERTAINING WHILE ENJOYING SOUTHERN FOOD AND BOURBON TASTINGS. THEY WERE ALSO ABLE TO SHOP THE SHOW FLOOR BEFORE AND DURING THE PARTY AND WERE EXPOSED TO EXTRAORDINARY GARDENS AND LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT PROFESSIONALS WHO ELEVATED THE BAR REGARDING EDUCATING THE AUDIENCE ON APPRECIATION OF GARDENS.
