THE CORE VALUES OF LUNA DANCE INSTITUTE ARE TO PROVIDE ACCESS TO DANCE TO ALL CHILDREN COMMUNITY SERVICE WITH INTEGRITY AND CREATIVITY AS THE FOUNDATION FOR DANCE IN EDUCATION. THESE ARE THE DRIVING FORCES BEHIND LUNA'S UNIQUE PROGRAMMATIC AND ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURES. LUNA'S PROFESSIONAL LEARNING COMPONENT AND IT'S MODEL PROGRAMS WORK IN TANDEM TO BRING HIGH QUALITY STANDARD-BASED DANCE LEARNING TO ALL CHILDREN WHILE IMPROVING DANCE TEACHING PRACTICE AND ADVANCING THE FIELD OF DANCE EDUCATION.

LUNA KIDS DANCE BRINGS ART EXPERIENCES TO MORE THAN 30,000 CHILDREN AND 400 ARTISTS TEACHERS AND SOCIAL SERVICE PROVIDERS EACH AND EVERY YEAR. OVER 31 YEARS LUNA HAS GROWN FROM A LOCAL DANCE STUDIO TO A NATIONALLY RECOGNIZED DANCE EDUCATION PROVIDING SERVICES TO CHILDREN AND THE ADULTS WHO IMPACT THEIR LIVES. IN 2022-23 LUNA CONTINUED OUR POST-COVID ADAPTATION WORK FUNDED BY THE WILLIAM & FLORA HEWLETT FOUNDATION TO STRENGTHEN OUR INFRASTRUCTURE AND EXPANDED THE FOLLOWING PROGRAM AREAS: 1 PROFESSIONAL LEARNING RETURNING OUR NATIONALLY-RECOGNIZED SUMMER INSTITUTE TO IN-PERSON PARTICIPATION EXPANDING OUR WORKSHOPS AND SEMINARS IN EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION AND PROVIDING PRACTITIONER EXCHANGES CONSULTATION AND MENTORING TO OVER 400 ARTISTS AND TEACHERS. 2 BUILDING CULTURES OF DANCE IN PARTNERSHIP WITH OAKLAND UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT-ECE AND VAPA DEPARTMENTS BERKELEY UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT-ECE SAN FRANCISCO BALLET AND MARIN OFFICE OF EDUCATION-ECE. THIS PARTNERSHIP WORK WAS COMPRISED OF PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT WORKSHOPS MODEL CLASSES TAUGHT TO STUDENTS LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT AND MENTORSHIP OF NEW DANCE TEACHERS HIRED BY THE DISTRICTS IN RESPONSE TO PROPOSITION 28. WE CONTINUED OFFERING EMBODIED PARENT EDUCATION THROUGH OUR MPACT MOVING PARENTS AND CHILDREN TOGETHER PROGRAM AT PROJECT PRIDE PART OF LIFELONG MEDICAL CARE. 3 WHILE OUR NEW STUDIOS ARE BEING RENOVATED WE CONTINUED OFFERING FREE FAMILY DANCE CLASSES AT LOCAL PUBLIC PARKS AND LIBRARIES PRESENTED COMMUNITY PANELS AND FORUMS VIRTUALLY AND HOSTED A FREE COMMUNITY EVENT OPEN TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC AND LIVE-STREAMED AS A PUBLIC EDUCATION OPPORTUNITY.
