COMPANY - ALONZO KING LINES BALLET IS A SAN FRANCISCO-BASED PERFORMING ARTS COMPANY CONSISTING OF 12 PROFESSIONAL DANCERS FROM AROUND THE WORLD. DURING FISCAL YEAR 2022, LINES BALLET PERFORMED 51 TIMES IN 23 CITIES AND 7 COUNTRIES. THROUGHOUT THE YEAR, THE COMPANY ALSO PROVIDED CLASSES, INTERVIEWS, AND DEMONSTRATIONS, BOTH IN SAN FRANCISCO AND ON TOUR. IN SPRING 2022, THE COMPANY PREMIERED A NEW WORK, DEEP RIVER, IN SAN FRANCISCO. DEEP RIVER INCLUDED VOCALS BY LISA FISCHER AND RECEIVED CRITICAL ACCLAIM.
EDUCATION - LINES BALLET OFFERS TRAINING, PERFORMANCE OPPORTUNITIES, AND SCHOLARSHIPS FOR ASPIRING AND PRE-PROFESSIONAL DANCERS. THIS INCLUDES THE LINES BFA PROGRAM, THE LINES SUMMER PROGRAM, THE LINES TRAINING PROGRAM, AND THE LINES TRAINING GROUND, A SUBDIVISION OF THE LINES TRAINING PROGRAM THAT IS MORE FLEXIBLE. THE LINES BFA PROGRAM IS A COLLABORATION WITH THE DOMINICAN UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA AND HAS FACULTY CONSISTING OF LINES BALLET COMPANY ALUMNI AND RENOWNED GUEST ARTISTS. IN THE 2021-2022 ACADEMIC YEAR, THE LINES BFA PROGRAM HAD 32 ENROLLED UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS. IN SUMMER 2022, THE LINES SUMMER PROGRAM FOR STUDENTS AGES 11-25 SERVED 237 STUDENTS. THE LINES TRAINING PROGRAM, DESIGNED FOR PARTICIPANTS AGES 17-25 CURRENTLY SERVES 33 FULL-TIME STUDENTS WITH 3 PART-TIME STUDENTS (CONTINUED ON SCH. O)IN THE MORE FLEXIBLE LINES TRAINING GROUND. ADDITIONALLY, IN THE 2021-2022 YEAR SIX LINES DAYS WERE HELD WHICH OFFERED ASPIRING AND PRE-PROFESSIONAL DANCERS' OPPORTUNITIES TO LEARN FROM THE FACULTY OF THE LINES EDUCATION PROGRAMS AS WELL AS AUDITION FOR THE PROGRAM OF THEIR CHOOSING.
DANCE CENTER - FOR THE SAN FRANCISCO/BAY AREA, THE LINES DANCE CENTER AT THE INTERSECTION OF 7TH AND MARKET STREET EXISTS AS A POINT OF ENTREE TO EXPERIENCING LINES BALLET ALL YEAR LONG. THE DANCE CENTER PROVIDES 78 HIGH-CALIBER CLASSES PER WEEK TAUGHT BY THE BAY AREA'S BEST FACULTY. IN THE 2021-2022 FISCAL YEAR, THE LINES DANCE CENTER WELCOMED NEARLY 3,420 STUDENTS THROUGH ITS VIRTUAL, HYBRID, AND IN-PERSON CLASSES, MASTERCLASSES, WORKSHOPS, AND @LINES PROGRAMS IN VARIOUS DANCE FORMS. THE LINES DANCE CENTER IS THE HOME BASE FOR ALL EDUCATION PROGRAMS OF THE ORGANIZATION. ADDITIONALLY, THE LINES DANCE CENTER HOSTS ANNUAL ALL YOU CAN DANCE DAYS, WHICH INVITES PEOPLE OF ALL AGES AND ABILITIES TO VISIT THE DANCE CENTER FOR AN ALL-YOU-CAN-DANCE EXPERIENCE WITH OPPORTUNITY TO TAKE DANCE CLASSES (CONTINUED ON SCH. O)IN A BROAD SPECTRUM OF GENRES, FROM PILATES TO DANCE FROM THE AFRICAN DIASPORA TO BALLET.
