A TEEN PREGNANCY PREVENTION PROGRAM (IN THE KNOW) THAT HAS EVIDENCE OF EFFECTIVENESS IN REDUCING TEEN PREGNANCY RATES OR CHANGING BEHAVIORS THAT CAUSE PREGNANCY INCLUDING DELAYING SEXUAL ACTIVITY AND INCREASING THE USE OF CONDOMS AND CONTRACEPTION. IMPLEMENTING A PROGRAM MODEL WITH FIDELITY SHALL CONTRIBUTE TO THE REDUCTION OF PREGNANCIES AMONG THE GROUP BEING SERVED.
PREPARE FOR SUCCESS IS A PROGRAM THAT FOCUSES ON REDUCING THE TEEN PREGNANCY AND SEXUALLY TRANSMITTED INFECTION RATES IN NORTH CAROLINA. IT IS DESIGNED TO EDUCATE ADOLESCENTS ON BOTH ABSTINENCE AND CONTRACEPTION TO PREVENT PREGNANCY AND SEXUALLY TRANSMITTED INFECTIONS. THERE ARE ALSO ADULTHOOD PREPARATION SUBJECTS WHICH INCLUDE HEALTHY RELATIONSHIPS, HEALTHY LIFE SKILLS, ADOLESCENT DEVELOPMENT, AND PARENT-CHILD COMMUNICATION.
PROVIDES ADOLESCENT PARENTING PROGRAM SERVICES TO 15-25 PREGNANT OR PARENTING TEENS WHO RESIDE WITHIN THE LOCAL AREA, ARE 19 YEARS OF AGE AT ENROLLMENT, AND ENROLLED IN SCHOOL OR AN EQUIVALENT PROGRAM.
